🔥 Preparedness matters — especially when you’re caring for horses. 🐴

Over the summer, with the help of San Mateo County Large Animal Evacuation Group Smclaeg, we held a fire evacuation training day to practice how we would safely get our horses to safety should the worst happen. Being prepared means having a plan, knowing what to do, and giving our horses the opportunity to practice too.

For some of our horses, it had been several years since they’d been in a trailer, so this was valuable training for them as well as for our team. It gave everyone a chance to build confidence, practice loading and unloading, and make sure we’re as organized and prepared as possible in an emergency.

We also hope our training day encourages others to take a moment to create their own evacuation plan — whether you have horses, other animals, or simply want to be prepared for your family. A little planning now can make a big difference when every minute counts.

A huge thank you to San Mateo County Large Animal Evacuation Group for partnering with us, sharing your expertise, and helping us make this important training possible. We’re so grateful for the work you do to help keep our large animals safe. ❤️
