VIDA Rescue We are a non-profit rescue dedicated to ending the suffering of animals. We operate through a network of dedicated and amazing volunteers.

VIDA (Volunteers in Defense of Animals) is a 501c3 nonprofit organization founded in 2015 by a group of passionate volunteers who have been working for years to end the mistreatment and suffering of animals. Our mission is to protect and help dogs and cats from homelessness, neglect, abuse, cruelty, and abandonment. We provide medical care, shelter, and food, for homeless animals. We sponsor spay and neuter campaigns for communities in need within Mexico & Guatemala. Our vision is to see the end of mistreatment & exploitation of animals and assist each & every one into a loving home.

Meet miss Daisy! She is a sweet three year-old Cairn terrier mix. She is super playful and loves being around other dogs. She takes a minute to get used to her people, but once she does, she’s a total love bug.

Not ready to adopt? We welcome fosters and volunteers. We also offer doggy day dates in which you can take any dog from the rescue for the day to give them some individual attention.

🐾 WE’RE STILL OPEN — AND WE NEED YOU! 🐾

There’s some GOOD NEWS to share! 💚

While our plans to move to a new location are still in place, a generous donor has stepped up and paid the rent for our current facility for another few months! 🙏🐾

That means VIDA is still open and our animals still have a place to call home for another month. But we need YOUR help to make the most of this extra time!

There are so many ways you can help at VIDA:

🐶 Animal Care – Help with feeding, cleaning, walking and daily care.
🐾 Enrichment & Playtime – Give our dogs and cats the attention, exercise and love they deserve.
🧹 Facilities – Help keep the rescue clean, organized and running smoothly.
❤️ Adoption Support – Help our animals put their best paw forward as they search for forever homes.

Already volunteered with us? You’re welcome to stop by anytime! 🥰

Never volunteered before? No problem! We just ask that all first-time volunteers attend a brief 20-minute orientation before getting started.

📅 GROUP VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION
🗓 Saturday, September 19
⏰ 11:00 AM

If you’d like to attend the orientation or want more information about volunteering, comment below or send us a message!

Every hour you give makes a difference. Every walk, every clean kennel, every game of fetch, every cuddle and every adoption connection helps give these animals a better chance at the lives they deserve. ❤️🐕🐈

We have more time. Let’s make it count! 💚

I don’t know about you, but I love a senior dog that is just happy to have a comfy bed to rest in. No potty training, no midnight feedings, no crate training. Just an old soul looking for a place to spend their golden years. The thing I love most about a senior dog is that they already have their personality so you know what you are getting into. If you’re looking for a sweet old pup for walks around the neighborhood and snuggles on the couch, apply to foster or adopt today.

Not ready to adopt? We welcome fosters and volunteers. We also offer doggy day dates in which you can take any dog from the rescue for the day to give them some individual attention.
