A little update on our brave boy 💛

Bucky’s recovery has been going smoothly. His wound is healing fast.

Since coming home, he’s been incredibly active and full of joy. Comes right up to greet every he sees.

Watching him regain his strength and spirit has been such a gift. Thank you all for sending your love and support along the way!

Join BWLA’s High School Summer Volunteer Activities!

This summer, join us for three fun and meaningful volunteer activities for high school students! Spend time outdoors, interact with animals, give back to the community, and connect with other students.

These activities are a great opportunity to:
• Earn volunteer service hours
• Connect with other high school students
• Enjoy meaningful outdoor experiences
• Relax, recharge, and give back to the community

Our summer activities include:
🐑 Animal Sanctuary Day
🐴 Farm Experience + Volunteering
🌊 Beach Day with Purpose (Beach Cleanup)

🕤 Time: 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM
📅 Dates: 6/6, 7/11, 8/1

So what happened to little Mylo? 🐑

Later that day, we moved him indoors. Rosa put on some chanting music. In that quiet moment, she remembered George, our beekeeper, once said he could help if a lamb ever needed extra care.

She called. He said yes. His wife Iris turned out to be a natural!

The moment they arrived, Mylo, quiet all day, stood up and called out to them. Loud and clear.

For the first five nights, George and Iris took turns on overnight shifts. Every two hours, without fail.

Now, they take the weekends shifts and we take the weekdays. This guy basically gets two sets of parents!

This baby boy wouldn't be here without everyone who showed up. Our team, volunteers, and of course George and Iris. Thank you for showing us such compassion!

Bucky's fighting & he needs us!

We just got back from visiting our little guy after his surgery. Bucky was more active than before and he wouldn't leave our side - as if he was saying "I miss home bring me back!"

What we learned from the doctor is that he's showing signs of improvement. He's eating, he's had a bowel movement. Yes, this is a big win!! If he keeps progressing, he could be coming home soon.

Bucky has shown us so much love and fight, this little boy has through so much but keeps fighting!

Bucky needs your help!

On Memorial Day morning, we found Bucky lying on the ground, unable to get up. We rushed him to the ER right away.

X-rays showed an obstruction in his intestines. The doctors weren’t sure what was causing it. They put him on IV and hoped it would pass on its own.

On Friday, we got a call from the hospital. Bucky hadn’t passed the obstruction. Emergency surgery was needed ASAP.

They successfully cleared the obstruction, but still need to monitor his recovery for the next week or so…

Our little guy has been through so much. Please keep Bucky in your prayers!

For those of you who have been following Bucky's recovery journey...drumroll, please...

He is recovering well!

The same foal who could barely stand is now lapping everyone at full speed! Over 30 days of rehab. Volunteers walking him through every single step. Bucky kept going.

We are so proud of you, buddy! We never gave up on you, and clearly, you never gave up on yourself!
