The GCEA represents roughly 6,000 NJEA members who are employed in Gloucester County public schools.

We aim to provide support and training to our members, work for the welfare of all students, and maintain positive community relations.

Our next Legislative Action Team (LAT) meeting is December 3, hosted by the Salem County Council of Education Associations at the Woodstown Pub Off Main.

We’ll be discussing the 2026 midterm elections and what the results mean for our profession, updates on state and federal legislation, and the latest developments in healthcare and pension reform.

LAT meetings are open to ALL members, but here’s the challenge: Every local association should have its Legislative Chair at the meeting.

GCEA and GCREA members took advantage of the beautiful fall weekend to remind Gloucester County residents just how powerful their voices and their votes are!

A huge thank you to our veteran and first-time canvassers who took time out of their weekend to connect with community members and encourage support for our GCEA/NJEA-endorsed candidates.

Whether you’ve been doing this for years or just got involved for the first time, every conversation makes a difference!

That was rejuvenating!

The GCEA celebrated Hispanic culture last night with music, wellness techniques (including breathwork), and a chance to learn some salsa and bachata!

The atmosphere was the perfect blend of relaxation, culture, and joy. Members walked away with new experiences and wellness tools to help manage some of the everyday stressors that come with being an educator.

A special shout-out to our presenter, Nancy Ynchaustegui, and our Equity Committee Chair, Joyce Farr, for bringing this wonderful event back for a second year in a row!

There’s nothing better than bringing members together to learn, recharge, and have a little fun!

🎉 CONGRATULATIONS, CHRISSY! 🎉

The GCEA visited Gloucester County ESP of the Year Chrissy Kosar at her local’s general membership meeting to celebrate this well-deserved achievement! But wait, there’s more! NJEA Vice President Petal Robertson joined the celebration and ceremoniously pinned Chrissy as the NJEA State ESP of the Year! WOW!

If you’ve had the opportunity to work with Chrissy, you already know she’s a staunch defender of ESP rights and job protections at the local, county, and state levels.

Chrissy was one of the lead organizers for the South Jersey Anti-Privatization Coalition and currently serves as one of Gloucester County’s Education Support Professional Action Network (ESPAN) captains. Her dedication to advocating for ESP members and protecting their rights makes a difference throughout our union!

Last night, the GCEA hosted Leading with Authenticity: Thriving as an Educator of Color, and the conversation was impactful! Members were challenged to rethink leadership, reflect on their own perspectives, and explore how we can create professional and union spaces where no one has to sacrifice their identity to be heard.

A HUGE THANK YOU to UniServ Field Representatives Fatimah Hayes and Jessica Denney, along with consultant Michael Morton, for facilitating this powerful conversation and challenging us to keep growing as leaders and as a union!
