For DMV Does Good, supporting veterans is personal.

Our Board of Directors includes veterans who served in the United States Armed Forces, including the Army and Marine Corps. Their sacrifice, leadership and continued commitment to service help shape who we are as an organization.

In the weeks leading up to Veterans Day, DMV Does Good will collect essential items to support veterans who may be experiencing housing or food insecurity. This campaign is our opportunity to give back and serve those who served us.

We will be collecting:

Clothing, including coats
Backpacks
Food
Boots and shoes
Hats
Socks

Collection details are coming soon. Please help us spread the word and prepare to support the veterans in our community.

Yesterday was more than a donation presentation.

It was proof that kindness still wins.

Over the past several weeks, our community rallied behind one mission: to ensure that mothers and babies experiencing housing and food insecurity have access to essential supplies.

Because of your generosity, DMV Does Good collected and distributed more than 13,000 diapers and 20,000 wipes to three outstanding nonprofit partners: Community of Hope, UCAP, and Shelter House.

These supplies will now reach families throughout Washington, DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia who need them most.

Every diaper represents one less impossible decision for a parent.

Every package of wipes represents dignity for a child.

Every donation represents someone choosing compassion.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Council member Christina Henderson for joining us and for her continued advocacy for children and families throughout the District. Your support helped make this milestone even more meaningful.

Thank you to Community of Hope, UCAP, and Shelter House for the extraordinary work you do every day. We are honored that these donations will strengthen the incredible services you already provide.

Thank you to DowntownDC BID for hosting us in the heart of our nation’s capital.

Most importantly, thank you to every individual who donated, every volunteer who gave their time, every business that sponsored, every church and community organization that collected supplies, and every person who shared our campaign with friends and family.

You are the reason this happened.

Since founding DMV Does Good in 2020, we have been blessed to serve nearly 4,000 families throughout our region.

Yesterday wasn’t the finish line.

It was another reminder of what is possible when ordinary people decide to do extraordinary things together.

There are still families who need support.

There are still children who deserve a stronger start.

And there is still work to do.

Please share this post so more people can see what our community accomplished together.

Thank you for believing in our mission.

When the DMV comes together, the DMV truly does good.

13,000 diapers. 20,000 wipes. Hope for families who need it most.

For many mothers experiencing housing and food insecurity, a clean diaper isn’t just a necessity. It’s one less impossible choice they have to make between buying diapers, paying rent, or putting food on the table.

Because of the incredible generosity of our community, DMV Does Good has collected more than 13,000 diapers and 20,000 wipes that will soon be placed directly into the hands of mothers, babies, and families facing some of life’s toughest circumstances across Washington, DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia.

We invite you to join us as we present these donations to three outstanding nonprofit partners that will ensure these essential supplies reach the families who need them most.

This is more than a donation presentation. It is a celebration of compassion, community, and what is possible when people come together to care for their neighbors.

Wednesday, July 29
10:00 AM to 11:00 AM

Whether you donated, volunteered, shared our campaign, or simply believe that every child deserves a healthy start and every mother deserves support, we hope you’ll stand with us as we celebrate this milestone.

Together, we’re proving that small acts of kindness can create a lasting impact for mothers, babies, and families throughout the DMV.

💜 We’re halfway there! 💜

Because of your incredible generosity, DMV Does Good is officially 50% of the way to our goal of collecting 10,000 diapers and 10,000 wipes for mothers and children experiencing housing insecurity across the DMV.

To everyone who has donated, shared our posts, encouraged others, or supported this campaign—thank you. Your kindness is making a real difference in the lives of families who need it most.

Now, let’s finish what we started.

If you’ve been thinking about helping, there’s never been a better time. Every diaper, every package of wipes, and every share brings us one step closer to reaching our goal and providing essential care items to mothers and children across our region.

Together, we can show what’s possible when a community comes together to care for one another.

Families across the DMV are facing impossible choices every day, and something as simple as diapers and wipes can become a major burden.

This summer, DMV Does Good, Inc. is launching our 10,000 Diapers and 10,000 Wipes Campaign to support unhoused mothers, infants, and children living in shelters across the region. Every donation helps provide dignity, comfort, and essential care to families who need it most.

We are calling on our community, donors, corporate partners, and friends to help us reach this goal by mid July.

You can help by:
• Donating diapers or wipes
• Sponsoring a bulk purchase
• Sharing this campaign
• Connecting us with community partners

Together, we can make a real difference for families across the DMV.

This week, DMV Does Good, Inc. had the honor of serving alongside the brothers of Gamma Pi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., supporting our neighbors in Prince George’s County who are experiencing housing and food insecurity.

Together, we delivered essential items to two shelters in Capitol Heights:

Prince George’s House Men’s Shelter, serving men in need and United Communities Against Poverty - Shepard’s Cove Emergency Shelter, serving women and children.

Through this effort, we provided support for over 100 individuals, including:

Bombas brand socks
New underwear and t-shirts
Over 500 individual toiletry items including soap, body wash, deodorant, toothpaste, and dental floss
Nearly 1,000 diapers
Baby wipes

This is what community looks like. This is what service feels like.

As we continue this work, there is still a critical need. The women’s and children’s shelter is in urgent need of diapers and toiletries, and we will be launching a dedicated drive soon to meet that demand.

If you are looking for a way to give back, now is the time.

More details on how to support are coming soon.
