Happy Wednesday, sis! Is your circle helping you grow?
One of the most underestimated decisions you will make in your intellectual and spiritual growth is who you choose to be in community with. Not just who you follow online or whose content you consume, but who you actually sit with. Who you have real conversations with. Who challenges your thinking, asks you hard questions, and holds you to a standard that pulls the best version of you forward.
The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said: “A person is upon the religion of their close friend, so let each of you look carefully at whom they take as a close friend.” (Abu Dawud)
That is not a warning to isolate yourself. It is an invitation to be intentional. The people in your inner circle are shaping you whether you are aware of it or not. Their beliefs seep into your conversations. Their ceilings quietly become your reference point. Their energy either expands or contracts what you believe is possible for yourself. This is not about judgment. It is about stewardship of the life you are trying to build.
When you are in a room where people are thinking deeply, reading widely, asking better questions, and doing the work on their faith and their minds, you naturally begin to rise. Iron sharpens iron. That is not just a saying. It is a spiritual reality. The women around you either call something higher out of you or they do not, and you owe it to yourself to notice the difference.
Investing in the right community is one of the wisest things you can do for your growth. It is not selfish. It is sacred.
Your glass half full challenge this Wednesday: look at the people you spend the most time with and ask yourself honestly, do they make me want to grow? If the answer is yes, pour into those relationships intentionally this week. If the answer gives you pause, that is information worth sitting with.
Happy Wednesday. You become who you surround yourself with.
