Happy Wednesday, sis! Is your circle helping you grow?

One of the most underestimated decisions you will make in your intellectual and spiritual growth is who you choose to be in community with. Not just who you follow online or whose content you consume, but who you actually sit with. Who you have real conversations with. Who challenges your thinking, asks you hard questions, and holds you to a standard that pulls the best version of you forward.

The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said: “A person is upon the religion of their close friend, so let each of you look carefully at whom they take as a close friend.” (Abu Dawud)

That is not a warning to isolate yourself. It is an invitation to be intentional. The people in your inner circle are shaping you whether you are aware of it or not. Their beliefs seep into your conversations. Their ceilings quietly become your reference point. Their energy either expands or contracts what you believe is possible for yourself. This is not about judgment. It is about stewardship of the life you are trying to build.

When you are in a room where people are thinking deeply, reading widely, asking better questions, and doing the work on their faith and their minds, you naturally begin to rise. Iron sharpens iron. That is not just a saying. It is a spiritual reality. The women around you either call something higher out of you or they do not, and you owe it to yourself to notice the difference.

Investing in the right community is one of the wisest things you can do for your growth. It is not selfish. It is sacred.

Your glass half full challenge this Wednesday: look at the people you spend the most time with and ask yourself honestly, do they make me want to grow? If the answer is yes, pour into those relationships intentionally this week. If the answer gives you pause, that is information worth sitting with.

Happy Wednesday. You become who you surround yourself with.

Jummah Mubarak sis.

There is a sweetness that comes with spiritual elevation that nothing else in this world can replicate. Not an achievement, not a relationship, not any amount of comfort or success. It is a particular kind of fullness that settles in your chest when you are genuinely close to Allah. And once you have tasted it, everything else begins to pale in comparison.

The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said: “There are three things that whoever attains them will find the sweetness of faith: that Allah and His Messenger are more beloved to him than anything else, that he loves a person only for the sake of Allah, and that he would hate to return to disbelief as he would hate to be thrown into fire.” (Sahih al-Bukhari and Muslim)

That sweetness he described is real. It is not a feeling reserved for scholars or for those who have been practicing longer than you. It is available to you right now, in this season, exactly where you are. It comes when ……

Jummah Mubarak sis.

Every room you walk into, you carry more than yourself. You carry the prayers of women who came before you. Women who did not have access to the spaces you now occupy. Women who held their faith quietly while leading loudly. Women who were told to shrink and chose to stand firm anyway. You are their answered prayer, and the way you lead matters far beyond what you can currently see.

Allah says in the Quran: “And We have already written in the book of Psalms, after the mention of Allah, that the land is inherited by My righteous servants.” (Surah Al-Anbiya, 21:105)

The women of our tradition did not just survive their seasons. They shaped history from within them. Khadijah, may Allah be pleased with her, led with resources and with conviction. Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, led with knowledge and with courage. Nusaybah, may Allah be pleased with her, stood in the field when others turned back. They each showed us what it looks like to lead from a place of purpose, without apology, without waiting for permission…….

Happy Wednesday, sis.

Comfort is not the enemy of growth, but it is very good at pretending to be your friend. It keeps you in the familiar, in the already-understood, in the ideas that have never been challenged and the spaces that have never made you stretch. And over time, comfort dressed as contentment can quietly stall a woman who was built for more.

Curiosity is one of the most underrated spiritual practices we have. It is the posture that says, I do not have the full picture yet, and I am willing to sit in that uncertainty long enough to learn something. It is what drives you to go deeper in your understanding of your faith rather than staying at the surface. It is what pushes you to ask harder questions about the world and your place in it, not out of doubt, but out of a genuine desire to know.

The scholars of our tradition did not arrive at the depth of their knowledge by staying comfortable. They traveled. They debated. They sat at the feet of those who knew more and asked question after question without embarrassment. Their curiosity was a form of humility, and their humility was a form of worship.

You do not have to have all the answers to be on the right path. You just have to be willing to keep asking.

Your glass half full challenge this Wednesday: identify one belief, habit, or assumption you have been holding without ever really examining it. Not to dismantle it, but to understand it more fully. Ask yourself why you believe what you believe. Growth lives in that question.

Happy Wednesday. Stay curious.
