Water level report through August 25, 2026.

Water Levels on the ponds have dropped this week, as Tex Tech has finished their dam repairs and needed to refill their pond. Now that the Mill Pond is full, the boards that control the water flow on Wilson Pond will be put back in place. This will stop the continued lowering of water levels on the ponds, and will allow the levels to rise. These repairs will ultimately benefit the ponds and their water levels.

On Monday, this eagle was observed on Main Street in North Monmouth. It jumped off bench and had difficulty getting into the nearby brush near the lake. It does not appear to be healthy nor able to fly. Its feathers were dry, yet very disheveled. Maine Warden Service was notified but I have not received an update. On Tuesday the eagle was not seen.

Dave Walsh shared this video with me that he captured of two loons fighting! I have never witnessed this behavior before. Thanks for sharing, Dave!

We are no longer using PayPal for donation payment. You can pay by check or Venmo. Annual membership is $50 but we encourage an additional donation to help with the Surveys done to ensure our lakes are free from invasive plants!
