East Readfield Cemetery. Nathaniel Whitter and his wife, Hannah (Clough) were parents of the brothers who came here about 1765. They joined them later. His wife, Hannah (Clough) had been kidnapped by Indians as a child, in Salisbury, MA. What an unsettling feeling it must have been for her to return to the wilderness Maine. Nathaniel was born in 1711 and died in 1784 in Readfield - which was still part of Winthrop at that time.

Hi everyone I'm here until 4pm stop in and say hello. While here you can shop some of our new merchandise focused on Winthrop and the 250th Anniversary of our nation. You can also take a look at our timeline that is focused on history: locally, statewide and nationwide. Hope to see you soon!

We are located at 107 Main Street, Winthrop. We are open Thursdays 10-6pm (Summer Hours to coincide with the Farmers Market across the street) and Saturdays 10-4pm.

Also, please support our upcoming fundraisers. Flyers are attached for the next two a vintage fashion show and a baked sale and a gift shop sidewalk sale

Meanwhile here's some pictures of the plants (indoor and outdoor), vegetables, and flowers that will be offered at this year's plant sale. This year we even have a Cortland Apple 🍎 Tree! Right now we are planning to be there 8am-2pm or until we sell out.

If you come on over, make sure to come into the center and see the timeline project charting local, state and national history starting in 1776 to present that is on display.

Check this page for an updates regarding the sale in the morning. Depending on wind or rain we may start and hour or 2 later than planned.
