The Winthrop Maine Historical Society holds its business meeting from January to November on the 1st Thursday of the month. All meetings are open to the public.

Getting ready for our Peanuts themed Trunk or Treat in downtown Winthrop. Stop by with you kids or grandkids to get a sweet treats and/or Peanuts themed goody.

The History Center will be open as well stop in and see our history or support us with a membership or purchase in the gift shop. Any Halloween or fall themed item is 20% off tonight in the gift shop. 🎃 👻 👽 🎃 👻

We will also be taking pictures. If you want to be posted on our website, make sure to stop by. Hope to see you there.

Looking for something fun to do Saturday 10/17? Stop into the History Center Saturday from 10am -4pm to buy your tickets.

This Saturday (10/17) at 6:30pm the Winthrop Maine Historical Society's fundraiser is happening at Cumston Hall. If you need a good laugh, this fundraiser featuring Dennis A. Price and Capital City Improv is surely a cure for a gloomy day while supporting local History. Tickets are available online through Cumston Hall or winthropmainehistory.org, at the History Center- 107 Main St (open 10am-4pm) or at the door. This is a family friendly event. Adults $20 and Children $10. Looking forward to seeing you there.

Apple Pie Bake Off! Thursday, October 8th at 5pm. Bring your pie 🥧 and enjoy the other entries while you're there.

Immediately followong, stay and enjoy a sampler of pie, and listen to Dan Brooks who will discuss the history of the Winthrop Fire Department and take a tour of the fire house while you're there!

Both events will take place at the Winthrop Fire Department off of Rt 202.

Save the Date for a look back at Winthrop Residents buried in the "old section" of Glenside Cemetery (the one on Turkey Lane). Come hear the "Decent" led stories of many people who made a difference in our town.

Tickets are available for purchase in advance at the gift shop at the Winthrop History and Heritage Center or online at www.winthropmainehistory.org for $10 each. Day of tickets are available at the door for $12 each. There will be 2 start times of 9am and 11am and you can come to the time that works best with your schedule.
