Silly Sock Saturdays Silly Sock Saturdays is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation that plans on bringing joy and happiness to kids in hospitals.

Silly Sock Saturdays is nonprofit 501c3 that plans a special day hosted by us every month, unless special holiday, around the 2nd Saturday of every month. Silly Sock Saturdays will bring different silly designed socks along with different types of comfort items, like coloring books, games, crafts, puzzles or toys, approved by our sponsoring hospitals, to help the children get their mind onto othe

r things not the pain and what the operation is happening future. We hope to bring a little joy to the children while they're in the hospital and to make them feel special. Our gifts bags are broken down into different age groups to make each gift seem more personal to the child. We donate 60 bags to local hospital every month. Since starting Silly Sock Saturdays 7 years ago it has also given me the opportunity to speak to youth in our community and help inspire them to also make a positive impact, no matter how big or small. Overall, the feedback from the families and children and the stories shared from the staff are just amazing. The support of family, friends and my amazing community have helped me be able to bring this idea into a reality and help continue to grow and reach more children every month, and for that I am truly grateful!

Dyer Kia Lake Wales is proud to present a Dyer Difference Award to Silly Sock Saturdays Corporation, a remarkable Polk County nonprofit dedicated to bringing comfort, smiles, and hope to children during some of their toughest days.

Founded by Zachary Kirkland while he was still in middle school, Silly Sock Saturdays has been delivering monthly gift bags to children in local hospitals since 2017. Each bag includes colorful silly socks, coloring books, comfort items, toys, and games designed to brighten a child’s hospital stay and remind them they are not alone.

Every month, approximately 60 children and their families receive a little extra joy thanks to this amazing organization and the volunteers who support its mission.

At Dyer Kia Lake Wales, we believe in making a positive impact in the communities we serve, and Silly Sock Saturdays is a perfect example of how one person with a big heart can change countless lives.
