Carpenters Local 1820 Union members

08/17/2026

This past weekend, SRCC members attended the 212 Journeyman Leadership Program at the International Training Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. This 3-day program of intensive leadership training is designed to develop leaders beyond the jobsite, expanding on the skills and knowledge members gained through their Journeyman training. We are proud to invest in the next generation of union leaders in the industry.

It is with great sadness that Carpenters Local 1820 announces the passing of Brother Billy Love.

For more than 20 years, Billy faithfully served our union in a variety of roles throughout Local 1820 and the Florida Regional Council. He served as a Trustee and Vice President of the Executive Board for Local 1820 and later represented our membership as a Delegate to the Florida Regional Council, where he served as Warden.

Billy was a proud union member, a dedicated leader, and a friend to many. His commitment to the Brotherhood and his willingness to serve others left a lasting impact on our local and the members he represented.

Billy gave so much to this union, and his loss will be deeply felt throughout our Brotherhood. He will be remembered with respect, gratitude, and admiration.

Rest in peace, Brother Billy Love.

A cool story featuring two familiar faces from Walt Disney World & Carpenters Local 1820.

Mike, a former Local 1820 member who now serves as a Manager in WDW, and Bob, an active Local 1820 member and Transportation Maintenance Mechanic at Heavy Equipment, were recently recognized for their careers and the bond they’ve built over the years.

Stories like this remind us that it’s our members who help keep the magic alive every single day.

Congratulations, Mike and Bob. Great job representing the craft and the people behind the scenes. 👏🏰🔧

Meet brothers Michael and Bob, two Walt Disney World mechanics whose family trade, teamwork, and Disney careers help keep the magic running behind the scenes.

Today we honor Juneteenth, a celebration of freedom and the end of slavery in the United States. The SRCC honors the legacy and hard work of those who came before us. Union workers, which include our black brothers and sisters, continue to be the backbone of America. Let us look toward a brighter future by remaining united.
