Shirley's Angels Animal Rescue While our primary focus began with boxers, we take other breeds and cats as well. PO Box 3462 Wi******er, VA 22604

We are a Non-Profit 501c3 organization run by a group of strong, committed and loyal animal lovers who rescue all animals in honor of Shirley ❤ We are 100% run by volunteers. Shirley's Angels Animal Rescue is solely run by caring and dedicated volunteers, we are a non-profit organization committed to rescuing, rehabilitating and re-homing stray, abandoned, neglected and abused animals. We are based in Wi******er, VA but have dedicated foster families in VA, MD and WV. We do NOT have a facility therefore all animals are in foster homes with families while we work to find their fur ever families.

Backstory- we can’t stop giggling over this. While one of our southern fosters was out trapping the smart kitty in the trap stepped over the trip plate to eat the sardines but his buddy on top stepped on the door and helped us catch his pal.

About Toby:Toby is a gentle, sweet boy who is looking for a patient and loving family. Sadly, Toby had a very rough start in life. Due to severe past abuse by his previous owners, Toby is completely blind. Despite the cruelty he endured, his heart remains pure, and he is ready to learn what true love feels like.
His Personality:Sweet but Shy: Toby takes a little time to warm up to new people and environments. Once he knows he is safe, he becomes incredibly affectionate.
Resilient: He is learning to navigate the world using his other senses and does remarkably well in a consistent environment.
Quiet & Gentle: Toby loves soft blankets, gentle chin scratches, belly rubs and calm companionship.
Ideal Home:Calm Environment: A quiet household with a predictable routine will help Toby thrive.
Patient Owners: He needs a family willing to give him time to adjust at his own pace.
Safety First: A home with a fenced yard and without a lot of moving furniture or hazards is best for his blindness. No small children as Toby startles easily.
Other Pets: Toby will do well with another small, calm, gentle dog who can help guide him, subject to a meet-and-greet.
Medical needs: Toby needs drops for dry eye twice a day.

Toby has put his past behind him. Now, he just needs a hero to show him that the world can be a safe, beautiful place.

We had an oops on this baby. We might have posted this sweetie as McFly a few days ago. Well….so……now meet McFlyla! Yes, this precious teeny tiny one is a girl! She came to us after having a botfly removed from her neck. Today you wouldn’t even know it was ever there. She is full of personality and so full of love. She very much wants affection from her humans but even better than that, she wants to give it right back! She will even share that affection with other cats and dogs. She’s so petite but her heart is huge! She just couldn’t be any sweeter and those big beautiful eyes will just get you. McFlyla is old enough but not quite big enough for spay surgery just yet. 🥹💕 Miss Doja is making progress, one little step at a time!

After several months of staying in her safe space, with the bedroom door always open, Doja is finally feeling brave enough to venture out and explore! 🎉🐱 This may seem like a small step to some, but for this sweet, shy girl, it’s a BIG milestone! ❤️

We were contacted about this little stray kitten found in Hampshire county with 3 bot flies. Thankfully a Good Samaritan couldn’t look away and has been reaching out to get help for the little guy.

Of course SAAR wants to do all we can to help but a vet visit is first thing needed. We need to raise $300 for this little one if you can lend him a paw.

This skinny, flea and ear mite infested bag of bones was found by one of our southern foster families eating what appeared to be smashed french fries off the asphalt in a gas station parking lot just ahead of the hurricane.

This lucky little one was absolutely starving, his gums were really pale but he’s already much improved with some iron drops and getting those pesky parasites off of him.

We can’t decide on a name though. What do you think we should name this little one?

UPDATE, funds raised. Thank you all so so much for helping us help Max..

Meet Max.

This poor kitty is only 9 months old and already been through 3 homes. His most recent home is a disabled lady who due to circumstances beyond her control is having to move right away.

She has two cats, one of which is very friendly and then Max here.

We are told that Max is best friends with the other kitty. However, Max cannot be touched, and none of his previous owners have been able to touch him either. With each home Max had to be trapped to be relocated.

When we went over to meet them, Max was incredibly hissy and growling and wouldn’t allow us near him.

We can’t take one and not the other. Because we know options for this kitty aren’t very good due to his lack of socialization and not being friendly with humans..

We want to help them both. We are hopeful that maybe overtime Max will friendly up and we are committed to giving him the time and the space that he needs to do that. But we need a little bit of help with his medical needs. Unfortunately, Max has never been to a vet in his life.

He needs vaccinated combo tested, dewormed, flea treated, microchipped and neutered.

We need to raise $250 to make this happen for Max and we’d like to do it quickly because time is of the essence due to the owner losing her home.

If you can spare even a few dollars, it is a tremendous help and you can do so in many ways.
