Make me to know your ways, O LORD; teach me your paths. —Psalm 25:4

Join us for our new fall sermon focus, Life with God: Faith for Every Season, beginning this Sunday, Sept. 6!

The psalmists compose psalms for the moments of life that are oriented by God’s well-ordered creation. The psalmists entrust to us psalms that enable us to speak about unspeakably disorienting seasons we never anticipated. The psalmists persist in writing psalms that bear witness to the enduring faithfulness of God to draw us “out of the depths” and give us a new orientation for a deeper life with him.

The Psalms work this way because life works this way. In the book of Psalms, God gives us words of faith for every season. The Psalms teach us how to live faithfully no matter our circumstances. As we sing, pray, and study psalms of orientation, disorientation, and new orientation, they teach us to know God’s “ways” and walk in his “paths.” They help us understand how life with God really works—and remind us that “all of life is life with God.”
