With our rehearsal and theatre space still under renovation, our classrooms sometimes have to flex into rehearsal studios when needed. So when we had to move indoors today due to the heat, we packed the fairies, lovers, mechanicals, and magic into one of our classrooms and kept right on going.

Watching these young performers adapt so easily is one of our favorite parts of theatre. No matter the space, they continue to grow in confidence and are tackling Shakespeare’s language with enthusiasm!

A Midsummer Night’s Dream takes the stage under the pavilion at Williamsburg Community Chapel on Saturday. We can’t wait to share their hard work with you! It’s a hilarious show and a great introduction to Shakespeare for all ages.

Today our Shakespeare students had the incredible opportunity to work with Paisley LoBue who played Helena in the Richmond Shakespeare production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream last summer!

Our Midsummer cast and theatre students had so much fun exploring Shakespeare’s language, learning practical tools for understanding the text, and discovering how actors bring these timeless stories to life on stage. It was inspiring to watch our young performers grow in confidence as they tackled the Bard’s words with curiosity and creativity.

A huge thank you to Paisley for sharing her talent, knowledge, and enthusiasm with our students!

We can’t wait to cheer on Paisley and Richmond Shakespeare this summer when As You Like It comes to Williamsburg. Several of our students are already reading the play and counting down the days until the performance!

Join us this coming Saturday, June 13th at 7:30 PM under the beautiful new pavilion at Williamsburg Community Chapel as 17 young performers bring Shakespeare's most magical comedy to life!

This one-hour adaptation is family-friendly, filled with fairies, mischief, mistaken identities, and plenty of laughs.

Admission is Pay-What-You-Can because we believe live theatre should be accessible to everyone. Whether you contribute $0 or $50, we'd love to have you there!

We’re not quite to costumes yet, but once Bottom’s ears go on, there’s no mistaking who he is…Titania’s expression says it all. 😂🫏

One of the best things about this process is watching the characters gradually emerge week by week. The cast is working so hard, and it’s exciting to see Shakespeare’s enchanted forest starting to come to life, even in the middle of a regular rehearsal day.

Printmaking in art class!

Students started by sketching two original ideas, chose their favorite design, and carefully carved it into a printing block. Then came the fun part…experimenting with four bold ink colors to create a series of unique prints.

It's always amazing to watch a simple line drawing transform into a finished work of art. So much creativity, patience, and attention to detail in this room!

We are thrilled to introduce the cast of Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr.!

This talented group of young performers will spend the summer bringing Disney’s magical world beneath the sea to life on stage. We can’t wait to dive into rehearsals and begin creating together.
