We’re excited to share that Jamestown 4-H Educational Center has received $5,000 through the Virginia Wildlife Grant Program to support wildlife viewing activities!

Wildlife viewing offers youth meaningful ways to explore the natural world. This grant will provide binoculars, spotting scopes, field guides, trail cameras, bird and bat houses, feeders, and other hands-on learning resources that will help campers observe wildlife up close, discover Virginia’s native species and habitats, and deepen their appreciation for the outdoors. 🌱

We’re grateful for this support from the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources and the opportunity to give young people meaningful ways to explore and connect with nature!

This program is supported by the 2025 Virginia Wildlife Grant Program through a partnership between the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources and the Wildlife Foundation of Virginia.

Can you believe it?! It’s our FINAL WEEK of Day Camp! 😭☀️
We’re soaking up every last minute of summer with one more week packed full of adventures, laughter, friendships, silly moments, and memories we’ll treasure long after the sunscreen wears off! 🌴💦😎
Our campers have made this summer SO special, and we’re not ready to say goodbye just yet! 💕 So let’s make this final week our BIGGEST, BEST, MOST FUN ADVENTURE YET! 🌺🦈

As summer begins to wind down, we are celebrating a wonderful season of learning, adventure, and connection at Jamestown 4-H Educational Center. While there is still a little more summer fun to go, we are already looking ahead to the many opportunities we will continue to offer young people throughout the year.

That year round work is made possible by community partners who believe in creating meaningful experiences for young people. We are so grateful to Chesapeake Bank for supporting our Aquatic Exploration Initiative and for being such a strong community partner. Their investment helps provide hands on environmental science experiences for youth, families, school groups, and military connected participants along the James River.

Through our aquatic education programs, participants step into the river, get their hands wet, and discover the world beneath the surface as they study fish, aquatic insects, water quality, and the health of our waterways. Chesapeake Bank’s support helps us expand these experiences and continue offering opportunities to explore the James River throughout the year.

We are proud to partner with an organization that gives so much back to the community. Thank you, Chesapeake Bank, for investing in young people, supporting our community, and helping make these experiences possible!

We’re excited to share that Jamestown 4-H Educational Center has received a $1,600 grant from the Community Awareness of Rappahannock Electric Charity (CARE) through The Power of Change program!

This funding will support the purchase of camping and safety supplies that help us continue providing safe, meaningful, and educational experiences for youth and families throughout our community.

We are grateful to the generosity of Rappahannock Electric Cooperative member-owners who choose to round up their electric bills through The Power of Change program. Their support makes it possible for CARE Charity to provide grants that strengthen local nonprofits and create lasting impacts in our communities.

Thank you to REC and the CARE Charity Board for investing in the programs and resources that help young people learn, grow, and thrive!
