Today, The Luzerne Foundation team had the opportunity to visit Nonprofit Accelerator, Fork Over Love, and see their mission in action.

We learned how Fork Over Love is helping bridge the gap in food insecurity by connecting individuals and families in need with nutritious, chef-prepared meals while supporting local restaurants and strengthening our community.

Staff, board members, interns, and volunteers gained valuable insight into the dedication and collaboration that fuel this work. Seeing their impact firsthand was a powerful reminder that innovative solutions and strong partnerships can make a meaningful difference in the lives of our neighbors.

Thank you to the entire Fork Over Love team for welcoming us and sharing your story.

📺 ICYMI! Dave Pedri recently joined Jarrett Ferentino on PaLive to promote True Crime Night at the F.M. Kirby Center on June 17.

The Luzerne Foundation is proud to sponsor this exciting event alongside Fellerman & Ciarimboli. 100% of the proceeds will benefit the Wyoming Valley Children's Association (WVCA) and The Ava Fellerman Memorial Fund.

As a special bonus, every audience member will receive a complimentary copy of Jarrett's new book, Mothers, Murders, and Motivation: A Journey Through the Mind and Heart of a Prosecutor.

While headlines often focus on criminals, this compelling book tells the stories of the families forever changed by their crimes. Offering a raw, behind-the-scenes look at pursuing justice in small-town America, Jarrett shares insights from some of the most emotional and complex murder cases of his career.

đź’™ Today, the ladies of The Luzerne Foundation proudly participated in the United Way of Wyoming Valley's Day of Caring! They spent the day cleaning, organizing, and sprucing up The Willow Foundation's facility in Wilkes-Barre.

Willow Foundation Counseling Wilkes-Barre was created to help individuals overcome barriers to self-sufficiency. In response to the growing need for accessible mental health services in Luzerne County, The Willow Foundation opened a free-standing counseling center focused on supporting individuals impacted by substance use disorders. Their confidential counseling services are provided in a warm, welcoming environment where healing and hope can flourish.

Thank you to United Way of Wyoming Valley for bringing our community together through service, and thank you to The Willow Foundation for the important work you do every day.

📣Congratulations to Leo “LD” Ventra, the Youth Advisory Committee’s 2025-2026 Fundraiser of the Year and recipient of a $2,000 scholarship towards furthering his education after high school.

Leo just completed his junior year at Hazleton Area Academy of Sciences and his first year with the Youth Advisory Committee (YAC).

Leo demonstrated outstanding community engagement by coordinating a meeting with leadership at Citterio to share the mission of YAC and explain how funding would support local nonprofit organizations.

Founded in Italy in 1878, Citterio is a family-owned company that opened its state-of-the-art prosciutto facility in Freeland, PA, in 2016. Today, it is the largest prosciutto production facility in the United States. Thanks to Leo’s efforts, Citterio awarded YAC a $2,500 Grant Sponsorship to help support youth-led philanthropy and local nonprofits throughout our community.

Leo’s success is a perfect example of how YAC educates and empowers high school students to collaborate with local businesses and community leaders to create meaningful impact and strengthen our region.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Teresa Jordan and the team at Citterio for their support of the Youth Advisory Committee and their investment in the next generation of community leaders.
