🎉 Today was the OPRA Region 2 Networking Event at the City of Fairview Park Gemini Center presented by Century Equipment-A Jerry Pate Company, Club Car, Toro, and Ventrac!

Attendees learned about the planning and ex*****on of a large-scale capital project, the operational preparations required behind the scenes, and the strategies used to reintroduce the facility to residents and members, and lessons learned along the way. The second part of the day included a networking lunch and tour of the facility.

Hear all about this project at the 2027 OPRA Conference & Trade Show at the session, "Beyond the Build: What Happens Before the First Splash" with speakers Kerry Kemp, Cindi Tscherne, and Megan Cooney with the City of Fairview Park!

Kelly Martinez and Tonya Roy will be joining us to present "Enabling Lifeguards for Success: The Challenges of Today’s Lifeguards and the Enabling Power of Leaders".

Kelly Martinez has been an Aquatic Professional since 1992. For the past 16 years, she has been an Aquatic Recreation Coordinator III for the City of Phoenix, Arizona, co-supervising 29 pool facilities and over 650 part-time aquatic staff. Kelly is also co-founder of the website, Lifeguards Love You Tube which is a video library and resource for aquatic professionals to supplement lifeguard training.

Tonya Roy is an accomplished executive and founder of Tonya Roy Consulting, her personal platform through which she continues her lifelong passion for aquatics and leadership development. Professionally, she supports national risk strategy, mitigation, and implementation practices that advance safe, relevant, and sustainable YMCAs. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge from both the insurance industry and hands-on work with hundreds of youth-serving organizations in the US and Canada.
