West Des Moines Community Schools presents PAWSitive Impact appreciation awards to staff members and volunteers who live out our mission to educate, empower, and inspire lifelong learners every day. A whopping 43 individuals were honored for May 2026, including the following five staff members from Jordan Creek: Pamela Ballard - Art, Chad Jamison - Assistant Principal, Kendra Limback - Teacher Librarian, Leslie Perrigo - 6th grade Teacher, and Char Rosen - 1st Grade Teacher.

Congratulations to each of these incredible staff members for all the ways you continue to Educate, Empower, and Inspire our students daily. All recipients were chosen through an open nomination process and received a certificate, nomination narrative, and PAWSitive Impact sticker. Nominations for the 2026-27 school year will reopen in the fall.

🎉Welcome to Jordan Creek, Principal Pierce!

Brandon Pierce, current principal at Fairmeadows Elementary, will become our next principal. Mr. Pierce is the most-experienced elementary principal at WDMCS, anchoring his work to a passion for inclusion, belonging, and support of each student.

It was an honor to celebrate our 6th grade graduating Class of 2026 today at school, and at their class party after. Thank you to all our staff and families who helped out and were able to join us. Best wishes to our new 7th graders. We look forward to celebrating all of you again at Seniors Come Home in 2032.

What a fun start to our final day of school clapping out our staff and 6th grade students who are moving on to new adventures after this school year. We wish all of them well in their next journey ahead! !

Our 6th grade leaders did an awesome job leading our final Afternoon Show student led assembly this afternoon. They recognized and honored our two retiring staff members, Mrs. Flagg and Mrs. Lord. We were also treated to the musical talent of our 6th grade Band and Orchestra students. We even got to enjoy a special beach party with our staff as they went surfing with us and danced us into our soon-to-be summer days ahead!☀️😎🏖️

Spending the afternoon outdoors in the sun proved to be equally as fun celebrating Field Day with our 3rd through 5th grade classes. Thanks to Mr. Hoversten and all our 6th grade leaders who helped to plan and lead all our Field Day stations today! Thanks to all our staff, students, and families who joined us throughout the day for these fun memories together.☀️💦😎

Thanks to all our students and families who joined our Kids Care Family Club before and after school today for sunshine, smiles, dancing bananas, bubbles, and LOTS and LOTS of HAPPINESS!! ☀️💦😎🍌💛
