Krisha Keeran, Inesh Gogineni, and Berkley Johnson received recognition as a Shining Stars Donor on behalf of Club Kids for a Cause tonight. This is a testament to the incredible power of the community and the dedication of our youth-run team.
Jennifer Mackey Scholl was a nurse for 22 years on the Younker 8 Floor at UnityPoint Hospital in Des Moines. In 2021, Jennifer was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer, and she passed away in April of 2021. Gary Scholl, Jennifer’s husband, and Club Kids for a Cause Tournament Operations Coordinator, started the Nurse Education Fund in her honor in May 2021. These scholarships fund nursing education within the pulmonary care department.
In August 2023, amidst a battle with lymphoblastic leukemia, Morgan Seashore decided to allocate donations to the gift shop at Blank Children’s Hospital. This provided an opportunity for children who typically did not receive gifts during their hospital stays to receive them. In alignment with Morgan’s vision, Club Kids for a Cause has established the Child Life Fund for Blank Children’s Hospital. With the creation of the Child Life Fund, Club Kids for a Cause pledges ongoing support to the Child Life department at Blank Children’s Hospital. Through this fund, nurses will have the means to purchase gifts for children who may otherwise go without, ensuring that Morgan Seashore’s legacy of kindness and compassion endures.
We were incredibly honored to be recognized alongside the other wonderful Shining Star Donors 💚💜
