Last night was nothing short of a fantastic evening as we celebrated Father's Day a day early, giving all the dads the opportunity to spend their actual Father's Day with family and loved ones.
A dedicated team of volunteers arrived at 2:00 PM to begin preparations. They worked hard in the kitchen, set up the lounge, cleaned and arranged the patio, and got the grill warmed up and ready to go. At 3:00 PM, the Bourbon Tasting Bar was set up, featuring a wonderful selection generously donated by a fellow Elk from Massachusetts.
By 4:00 PM, the lounge was already filling with members and guests. The fellowship, camaraderie, and laughter throughout the evening were truly heartwarming. Many members commented that they had not seen such a great Father's Day turnout in years. We extend our sincere thanks to the committee and volunteers whose hard work made the event such a success.
The festivities began promptly at 5:00 PM and continued well past 11:00 PM. A special thank you goes to Nancy and Bob Gubala for the trays upon trays of delicious homemade macaroni and cheese that quickly became a crowd favorite. Shirley Simpanen and Richard Raposa also deserve special recognition for the incredible assortment of homemade whoopie pies and cream puffs that provided the perfect sweet ending to a wonderful meal.
Thank you to Sharon Tai and Jimmy Fletcher for their outstanding work behind the bar, keeping everyone refreshed and ensuring guests were well taken care of throughout the evening. We would also like to thank Hollie Torpey, Don Torpey, and Sterling Graham for providing the ci**rs, which added a special touch to the celebration. Oh! and a big thank you to the House and everyone that donated the raffle baskets and the door prize.
Most importantly, thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, donated, and helped make this event so memorable. Events like these remind us that the West Warwick Elks is more than just a lodgeโit is a family built on friendship, fellowship, and service.
Together We Are One.
