is the non-profit organization that manages the town's Special Improvement District (SID). The DWOA was formed in August 1998 through the ordinance that also established the SID. Recognizing the unique contributions made by the residential, historic and commercial properties that collectively form our "downtown," the Township of West Orange created the SID to encourage economic revitalization of t

he neighborhoods known as Tory Corner, Eagle Rock, St. Meetings - always open to the public - are generally held on the fourth Wednesday of each month, beginning at 6:30 PM in Town Hall Room 109. You're invited to join in our downtown revitalization! Call (973) 325-4109 to confirm meeting dates and locations, then come by to listen and share your ideas.

The Downtown West Orange Alliance and the West Orange Chamber of Commerce welcomed representatives from state and federal business support organizations, as they met to share what resources they have to offer for local businesses.

GNEC, a nonprofit community development financial institution, hosted a lunch at Castle Rock Bar and Grill, and were joined by representatives from the NJ Economic Development Authority (NJEDA), Women's Center for Entrepreneurship (WCEC), and Small Business Administration/New Jersey (SBA).

We also toured several businesses in the Eagle Rock Corridor (Vida Hair & Skin, West Orange Cafe, Jessy's Beauty Salon, and Uptown Ink & Thread/TeeRico) to find out ways in which these organizations might have resources they could tap.

We are truly appreciative to these groups for sharing so much vital information with our local community!
