STORY OF RESCUE:

The Germans occupied Brussels in May 1940. By June 1942, the occupation became repressive, especially for the Jews. Alice Schiffer rescued two Jewish children - Inge and Lydia Kollman - by bringing them to her small village of Anzegem to avoid being killed. She cared for the girls from June 1942 until the end of the year. Alice adopted the two girls and placed them in the convent where she continued to care for them until the end of the war.

The sisters survived the war, thanks to Alice Schiffer.

Please join us in wishing a happy birthday to Andrzej M. from Poland, who is turning 89 today! πŸŽ‚πŸŽ‰

In 1942, Andrzej lived with his brother and parents in N**i-occupied Debica, Poland, when his family smuggled 13 Jews out from the city's ghetto before its liquidation and hid them until liberation in August of 1944.

More than 300 descendants of the 13 people are alive today because of their heroism. Visit our website (πŸ”— in bio) to learn more
