The Living Well Foundation is a non-profit public charity established in 2006.

Our mission is to enhance the health and quality of life of citizens in Ouachita Parish and seven surrounding parishes.

Congratulations to our local Food Bank, Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana, on their new location! The Mintz family and Graphic Packaging began that journey for them, and partners are stepping up to assist their funding goals. We're pleased to participate with them. A wonderful new site led by our great Food Bank team in NELA!

Thanks to Ouachita Parish Schools Board for approving a new school-based health center at Ouachita Parish Junior High School by CommuniHealth Services and our partnership to assist in funding. And thanks Principal Darron Underwood for your support and excitement to have this medical clinic on-campus! We love our schools and leadership!

ULM College of Pharmacy project, led by Dr. Emily McGee, ensures that EMS and hospital ER's are educated regarding medication administration for stroke intervention. We're excited about their work and future growth for this project focus in our rural areas. Debbie Spann with LERN (Louisiana Emergency Response Network) is collaborating with them also. Great work in our region!

It's Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and we've funded Louisiana Cancer Foundation and Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center to provide free screenings during their 2026-2027 projects. Be sure to get your screenings, early diagnosis and treatment can save lives. Blessings to all our cancer survivors and to those who have lost loved ones to cancer and to those still in the fight, we see you, we honor you - you are likely our friend, our neighbor, our co-worker, our family, or the store clerk, or barista, or someone we see but don't know yet!

It's National Food Bank Week, and we're at the Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana after a food packing activity. Origin Bank dropped by to honor this great local team at our fantastic Food Bank while we were taping video for the luncheon too. How thoughtful! What a community we share! Thanks, Jean, Sarah, and Eliza, and all the Food Bank folks. We are so grateful for your dedication!

We're excited to share info about Miss Spirit of the Red's Teen, Bella Miller, and her new nonprofit, Upright and Unseen. They're having a scholarship social tomorrow in Farmerville. We're pleased to assist them as they focus for nonprofit success in our region. Great work, Bella!

The Northeast Louisiana Children's Museum is getting close to having a new location. Melissa and her team did an awesome job for the Hard Hat Party! Always creative, always thinking ahead. We're happy to be their partner. And Chef Pat and Chip with Chef Pat Nolan Catering provided some great food again!

Great gathering at Union General Hospital forThink Pink campaign for breast cancer awareness! Presenters Pluma Downs, with The Witness Project of Northeast Louisiana , and Emily Kelley, with My Pink PEP Squad, both survivors, shared hope and encouragement, along with Jennifer Zimmerman from the Louisiana Cancer Foundation. Thanks to Dianne Davidson, CEO, and Claudia Wade, Community Development, and the hospital team for serving your region so compassionately. We love our partnership!

The Foundation welcomes Miss Louisiana, Shelby Bordelon, to its Annual Update Luncheon on 11/19/26 at the West Monroe Convention Center at 11:30A. Shelby implemented the nonprofit, Claire’s Promise, to stop drunk driving and its impact on people’s lives. Join us at our luncheon to hear this dynamic young leader and motivator.

Shelby Bordelon, Miss Louisiana 2026 and 1st Runner Up to Miss America 2027, is from Sunshine, Louisiana. She is a graduate student at Southeastern Louisiana University pursuing a master's degree in Strategic Communication. She aspires to build a career in advertising, corporate communications, marketing, and nonprofit fundraising. Shelby's Community Service Initiative, Claire's Promise, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established to honor the life of her best friend, who was killed by an impaired driver. Through Claire's Promise, she partners with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Louisiana to educate students and young adults about the dangers of impaired driving.
