Hey guys! It's Mia! This month, I started it off in Nashville, where I finished up my nannying jobs that I have had since I was just starting at Lipscomb! I said goodbye to my sweet families and officially moved back to Louisiana! It has definitely been a bit of an adjustment, but I love being back home!
I started a new job, which I love so much, and I am loving this simple sweet stage of life I am currently in! Of course I still fish with my dad almost every day, but other than that, I am just living a simple, boring life! Thank goodness!
I hope you guys had a wonderful August and an easy transition from Summer break to starting school again! Me & dad had fun recreating the photo! Do you think it looks the same?🤣

Donnie, short for Donovan was born with a bilateral cleft lip and palate on July 14, 2017. He had his lip revised at 3 months and the palate at 12 months. Both times, I was amazed at how resilient he was. Donnie has always been the brightest light in the room and is full of curiosity and wonder. He loves Halloween animatronics and one day aspires to be a mechanical engineer to create his own. Donnie's cleft has never held him back! We are beyond grateful for discovering the Mia Moo Foundation!! What a wonderful gift!

Meet Wilton- a creative, energetic and kind-hearted 9 year old boy who is so much more than the cleft he was born with. Wilton has endured, like many children born with a cleft, medical and dental challenges most children never have to think about. His journey so far has included numerous appointments (many that require travel), several procedures, nine surgeries and expenses that can sometimes feel overwhelming for a family. Despite this, Wilton lives life to the fullest whether it be running around the neighborhood with his friends, writing books, playing the drums or cuddling his dog; Daisy. Thank you Mia Moo Fund from the bottom of our hearts. 🩷💙💛

Hey everyone! This past month I finished up working at my local summer camp and it was the sweetest! Even though it was exhausting some days, it was seriously the best summer ever being out at camp. I got to fish every single day and I got to teach kids how to fish that have never even been to a lake before! It was the perfect job for me and I loved every second of it!
After camp, I journeyed to Kansas to spend a week with my best friends. We enjoyed a week of rest, card games & worship nights and it was the perfect end to summer. I hope everyone had an amazing summer and I hope everyone has a good time heading back to school! Praying for you guys always!- Mia :) 🥰

Abigail was born with a bilateral cleft lip. During pregnancy, an ultrasound also diagnosed her with a bilateral cleft palate. However, when she was born her palate was intact with only some maxillary defects. Praise the Lord!
Thanks to an amazing medical team, Abigail had her first surgery at just 5 months old to repair her lip. She's all smiles and giggles now! The Mia Moo Fund has been an extra blessing to our family during this season of life, and we are so grateful for their support!

Our daughter, Charlee, was born with a bilateral cleft lip. Receiving her diagnosis during pregnancy was unexpected, but she has shown us from the very beginning how strong she is. Every milestone reminds us how far she has come. We are so thankful for the support from the Mia Moo Fund during her cleft journey. We hope Charlee’s story helps other families know they are not alone and that there is a caring community ready to support them along the way. Thank you again for your generosity, your prayers, and for all that the Mia Moo Fund does for families like ours. We are very grateful for this blessing.

I have been working at a summer camp where I am a counselor and it has been so sweet! I have been fishing for hours every day as well as being the one who makes everyone their coffee! This has been restful, slow & peaceful and I am holding onto every bit of it! Even though I work long days, my job is so life-giving that I am well rested and never wanting it to end! I hope you all are enjoying your summer break! Praying for all of my cleft-cuties!

Chase will be turning 13 this August and starting 7th grade at our local high school and plans to follow in the footsteps of his big brother and join the performing arts. Chase was born in 2013 with a cleft lip and palate, which was a surprise to us as the cleft didn't show up on our ultrasound. Chase came into this world to keep his family on our toes and still does with his danger Dan lifestyle. He may be wild, but he has the softest and most kind heart and gives some of the best hugs a person has ever had. Chase has spent most of his summer fishing with friends and always has something to bring home or a fishing story to tell. Thank you again to the Mia Moo foundation, you and your family are a breath of fresh air and a blessing to cleft families everywhere.
