Celebrate Recovery - WFR Healing for Life's Hurts, Hang-Ups and Habits, Celebrate Recovery at WFR Church, West Monroe, Louisiana

The purpose of White’s Ferry Road’s Celebrate Recovery ministry is to bring healing to individuals for life’s hurts, hang-ups, and habits. This healing is realized through the 8 Recovery Principles & 12 steps, as we share our lives honestly---as we apply biblical principles--- working diligently---as we grow spiritually. This experience changes us from the inside out as we break free from our addi

ctive, compulsive and dysfunctional behaviors. This freedom creates in us peace, serenity, joy and a personal relationship with God and others. As we progress through Celebrate Recovery, we find forgiveness, grace, and mercy in Jesus Christ, the one and only true Higher Power.

Did you know ABANDONMENT can be a hurt?

Being left doesn’t always mean someone physically walked away.

Maybe someone you trusted stopped showing up.
Maybe a parent wasn’t there when you needed them.
Maybe a relationship ended without answers.
Maybe someone chose something… or someone… over you.

Abandonment can leave behind a fear that whispers, “Everyone I love eventually leaves.”

And without realizing it, that hurt can affect the way we trust, love, attach to people, and even the walls we build to protect ourselves.

At Celebrate Recovery, we don’t have to pretend those wounds didn’t hurt. We can bring them into the light and allow God to begin healing what we’ve carried for far too long.

People may have left you… but God never did. ❤️

“Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5

✨ A FRESH START TO A NEW WEEK ✨

You don’t have to carry last week into this one.

The mistakes.
The disappointment.
The things you wish you would’ve handled differently.
The conversations you keep replaying.
The progress you think you should’ve made by now.

Leave it there.

Recovery teaches us that we don’t have to have yesterday figured out before we can take the next right step today.

God’s mercy is new this morning. ❤️

So instead of asking, “How am I going to fix everything this week?” try asking:

“God, what is the next right thing You want me to do today?”

One day at a time.
One choice at a time.
One step at a time.

That’s how lives change.

What’s ONE thing you’re choosing to do differently this week? 👇

Did you know OVER-COMMITTING can be a hang-up?

Sometimes staying busy looks like being responsible, helpful, or even serving others.

But sometimes we say YES to everything because we’re afraid of disappointing people.

We fill every empty space.
We take responsibility for things that aren’t ours.
We keep pouring when we’re already empty.
And eventually… resentment, exhaustion, and burnout show up.

Recovery teaches us that “no” can be a healthy word.

Setting boundaries doesn’t mean you don’t care. It means you’re learning that you don’t have to earn your worth by constantly doing for everyone else.

Jesus didn’t call us to be everything to everybody.

Today, ask yourself:

Am I serving from a healthy place… or am I afraid of what people will think if I say no?

That might be something worth bringing into the light. ❤️

DID YOU KNOW ISOLATION CAN BE A HANG-UP?

Sometimes isolation doesn’t look like being completely alone.

Sometimes it looks like saying, “I’m fine,” when you’re not.
Ignoring the phone call.
Pulling away when life gets hard.
Convincing yourself nobody would understand.
Trying to carry everything by yourself.

But recovery was never meant to happen alone.

God created us for connection. There is healing in finally letting someone else know the real you…the struggles, the fears, the failures AND the victories.

You don’t have to disappear when you’re hurting.

Come out of isolation.
Step into community.
Let somebody walk with you.

Celebrate Recovery is a safe place to find freedom from the hurts, habits, and hang-ups that keep us stuck. ❤️‍🔥

🎉 IT’S CHIP NIGHT! 🎉

Tonight, we CELEBRATE! 🙌

Every chip tells a story.

A story of surrender.
A story of courage.
A story of one more day.
A story of God doing what we couldn’t do on our own.

Whether it’s your first blue chip or another milestone along the journey, we want to celebrate with you! 💙

And if you’re struggling… come anyway.
If you’ve had a setback… come anyway.
If you’re not sure Celebrate Recovery is for you… come anyway.

You don’t have to have it all together to walk through the doors.

Did you know attention-seeking can be a hang-up?

Sometimes the need to be noticed, praised, reassured, or validated can become something we depend on.

We may chase attention because deep down we’re afraid of being forgotten, overlooked, or not enough.

But healing begins when we stop looking to people to constantly prove our worth and start believing what God says about us.

At Celebrate Recovery, we learn to uncover what’s underneath the behavior and allow God to heal the places that keep asking, “Do I matter?”

You do matter.
You are seen.
And you don’t have to perform for love.

You don’t have to wait until everything falls apart to ask for help.

Celebrate Recovery is for anyone carrying a hurt, habit, or hang-up that is keeping them from living in the freedom God has for them.

Maybe you’re dealing with anger.
Maybe it’s grief.
Maybe it’s anxiety, control, resentment, addiction, codependency, shame, or something you haven’t even been able to put into words yet.

You don’t have to have it all figured out before you walk through the doors.

Come as you are.
There is a seat for you.
There is a community ready to walk beside you.
And there is a God who is still writing your story. ❤️

You don’t have to have an addiction to need Celebrate Recovery.

Sometimes it’s the habits we’ve picked up along the way that are keeping us stuck.

Maybe you…

• Shut down when you’re hurt.
• Avoid difficult conversations.
• Need to be in control.
• Constantly seek approval from others.
• Hold grudges.
• Isolate when life gets hard.
• Use food, shopping, work, social media, or relationships to escape.
• Compare yourself to everyone around you.
• People-please because you’re afraid of disappointing others.
• Sabotage good things when they start getting too close.
• React in anger instead of dealing with what’s underneath it.
• Pretend everything is fine when it isn’t.

You may look at that list and think…

“Wait. I thought Celebrate Recovery was for people with addictions.”

It’s not.

Celebrate Recovery is for hurts, habits, and hang-ups… and most of us have something.

You don’t have to wait until your life falls apart to decide you want something different. 🧡

Come as you are. There’s a seat for you.

Did you know that ENTITLEMENT can be a hang-up?

Entitlement doesn’t always look like arrogance.

Sometimes it sounds like…

“I’ve done so much for them… they owe me.”

“I shouldn’t have to be the one to apologize.”

“After everything I’ve been through, I deserve this.”

“Why does everyone else get blessed while I’m still waiting?”

When we believe life, people, or even God owe us something, disappointment can quickly turn into resentment, anger, pride, and unforgiveness.

Recovery teaches us to stop keeping score.

To recognize grace.

To choose humility.

And to trade “I deserve” for “I’m grateful.”

Celebrate Recovery is a safe place to work through our hurts, hang-ups, and habits… even the ones we don’t always recognize in ourselves. ❤️‍🩹
