Welcome to Companions on a Journey Grief Support, a center of hope, strength, and healing.

At COJ, we believe that the journey of grief and loss is not meant to be walked alone. If you are seeking non-urgent grief support services, we invite you to call our COJ office during normal business hours (closed holidays). If, however, you are experiencing a psychiatric emergency, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. Here are the COJ support groups meeting this week! If you are struggling with the loss of a loved one, trying out a COJ support group is a wonderful way to pursue hope, strength, and healing. 💜

We are delighted that Sheila was recently a guest on the Restoring Hope podcast, hosted by Fr. Kevin Scalf of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood, who share a commitment to reach out to those who are lost or forsaken. Together, Sheila and Fr. Scalf reflect on the difficult journey of loss and the hope that can slowly emerge when we don't have to walk through our sorrow alone.

Our grieving families are blessed every October by the generosity of the Niederman family, who gift them with the experience of their wonderful Fall Festival at Niederman Family Farm! Each year, we make it special with a memorial activity; this year, each family created a memory jar and filled it with messages or notes to the person they are missing. Combine that with s'mores, farm animals, the corn maze, and hayride, and you witness grieving families who are smiling, relaxing, and finding joy in honoring their loved ones! Thank you, Niederman family!!

And thanks also to the team at Madeira High School, who are working all semester to support COJ's ministry, and joined us at the bonfire!

We wanted to let you that COJ’s Hope After Loss support group with Christ Tabernacle Apostolic Church will be ending effective immediately. We apologize for the short notice, but there will not be a meeting tonight.

We encourage you to check out our website and see what other grief groups we offer. We would love to have anyone attending the Hope After Loss group join one or more of our other offerings.

Recently we hosted a Cocktails & Connections event at Fueled Collective in which we brought together various people from the community who we thought would benefit from knowing more about Companions on a Journey, and who we would like to know more.

It was a lovely event enjoyed by nearly 20 new (or somewhat familiar) friends of COJ, with sparks of energy about sharing our message.
