This week, we stepped out into the community to try something new and took a tour of the local community center. We were amazed by all the opportunities available—dance classes, game days, fitness programs, and even book-writing classes where you can publish your own book!
Although the workout class we had our eye on was already full, that didn't stop us. The ladies quickly decided we'd just find another class to sign up for and keep exploring new adventures together.
Community Engagement is all about building friendships, trying new things, gaining independence, and discovering opportunities right here in our community. We can't wait to see what next Monday brings!

Looking for local businesses, families, or community members who would like to help sponsor "Swim With Friends" Sundays this Summer! This open swim (6-7pm) opportunity is designed for families who have a son or daughter (all ages welcome) with a disability — creating a safe, welcoming place for connection, laughter, friendship, and fun at the Cashmere Pool. The best part? It’s completely free for families to attend. The cost to host each Sunday is $270, and we are hoping to find sponsors for all 6 Sundays this Summer. Whether you are a local business wanting to give back or a family wanting to help make memories happen for others, every sponsorship makes a direct impact. Meet Pierce 💙. Pierce may be the youngest in The Healing Herd, but he is definitely one of the most curious and adventurous. He is always ready to try something new, hang out with the guys, and, of course, enjoys pizza! 🍕 At The Healing Herd, we focus on friendships, community, and meaningful experiences in a fun and supportive environment. Families can also use respite hours at The Healing Herd with flexible scheduling options throughout the week. We also offer Saturday programming from 11 to 3. We sure love having Pierce as part of The Healing Herd family 🤍.

Saturday adventures at The Healing Herd 🐴✨

Today we hit the road to explore Wenatchee Valley Museum & Cultural Center and were pleasantly surprised by all the fun free goodies they were handing out. We even split up for a private tour and got to experience the museum one last time before it gets its big facelift.

After that, we grabbed lunch downtown on the avenue and enjoyed watching Tour de Bloom roll through town 🚴‍♀️☀️

And of course, no Saturday is complete without making it back to the ranch in time to spoil Honey, Charlie, and Porter with peanuts, endless grooming, and plenty of laughs.

These simple days of community, adventure, and horse time are what it’s all about 🤍 ❤️

Meet Melissa 🤍🐴

Melissa has been part of The Healing Herd since last summer, and she’s become such an important part of our community. She thrives in all things “welcome committee” — making sure snacks are ready, helping get everything set up, and most importantly… making sure everyone knows exactly what’s going on. 😊

I (Laura) get the privilege of spending time with Melissa each week through Community Engagement, and one of my favorite things about her is her willingness to try new things and fully embrace new experiences.

When asked her favorite part about The Healing Herd, her answer was simple: seeing all of her friends… and Honey… because “he’s beautiful.” ❤️

She also loves Pepsi, good company, and brings so much joy to our herd. We’re pretty lucky to know her.

Friendship, belonging, and community matter deeply—and at The Healing Herd, we’re intentionally creating spaces where those connections can grow.

Each Monday, a group of young ladies heads out into the community for lunch, laughter, and meaningful time together. What may look like a simple outing is often so much more: building confidence, independence, social skills, and genuine friendships.

This week, we celebrated alongside Laurisa as she shared how much life has changed since gaining more independence through Link Plus.

Her words stopped us in our tracks:
“I’m telling my younger self, I am so happy having friends again.”

That’s what this is all about—creating opportunities for people to feel connected, capable, and surrounded by community. Watching these friendships blossom has been one of the greatest gifts. 💛

Derby, pizza, and horsemanship... They all go together, right? The H&H Club had a great weekend celebrating the Kentucky Derby. We were very spoiled by volunteer Jon, who brought out his pizza oven for us to enjoy.
