Sage Advocacy Center’s Executive Director, Bethany AlHaidari, has an op-ed in today’s Wenatchee World.

In “Our children deserve better: Local child-abuse victims receive 425% less than the national average,” she highlights critical issues impacting children across Chelan, Douglas, and Okanogan counties.

Sage has 3 full-time child forensic interviewers and child advocates who are proud to work with detectives from the Wenatchee Police Department, the East Wenatchee Police Department, the Okanogan County Sheriff Office, the Chelan County Sheriff's Office and the Douglas County Sheriff's Office - Washington in seeking justice and protecting local children.

Our team sees the toll trauma takes on children and the urgent need for stronger community investment. We also witness how much a child’s future brightens when they have access to wrap-around support services. Sadly, our region’s child-abuse victims are dramatically underfunded compared to the rest of the nation. We must do better for our kids.

Thank you to the Wenatchee World for elevating this important conversation. And thank you to the Sage team, MDT partners, and community members who stand with us in ensuring every child receives safety, healing, and justice.

PART TWO: a glimpse into a day in the life of our incredible team at Sage Advocacy Center. Get to know team members Andrea, Stacy, Hank, and Marcela.

Our advocates, therapists, and entire team work tirelessly behind the scenes: supporting and advocating for victims and survivors 24/7, standing by their side in court, providing food and safe shelter, coordinating with law enforcement to protect children, and providing trauma-informed care to children and families.

If you see someone from Sage Advocacy Center out in the community - please don’t forget to thank them for their service.

THANK YOU!
What a lovely night! 💜

Our 2025 Evening for Survivors brought our community together in the most powerful way - to stand with survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse.

Because of your generosity, we raised over $31,000 to directly support Sage’s programs serving survivors across Chelan, Douglas, and Okanogan counties. 💪

From the heartfelt survivor stories to the inspiring words shared by community partners and our incredible team - this evening reminded us that when we come together, healing happens and hope grows.

Thank you to every sponsor, donor, volunteer, and guest who made this possible. Together, we are creating a safer, stronger community. 💜
