Please know that we do this post to show how supporters that the support you give is used in a very positive manor. The hope is to grow financial support on a more steady basis but to also grow the knowledge base of services we provide.
I have had so many people say itās a great thing to share the work getting done, we love the work and the support we can offer and we know itās because of the support we get.
Our volunteers are amazing and beautiful and wonderful. Misty, Tracy and her mom, Stephanie and her husband, Natasha, Ronnie and Linda, Gail, Marc Bella and his other daughter, Sarah, Angela and Erika. As always forgive me for forgetting anyone and names.
The little pantry provided over 80 families with groceries this week. Whatās important to know about this is that not every family comes every week because they get enough food to last and donāt want to ātake advantageā of the services. We also had 7 new families that have never been to us per week, 3 of which have never been to a pantry before.
Our 8 outside pantries receive over 800 lbs of food to support the community they are in.
Clothing was given out to 3 children and 2 adults. Work clothing was given to an additional 2 adults.
A five year was able to have a special day despite parental job loss.
We have a local Veteran who just received housing that we are helping tomorrow with housing items.
We have another family that was previously unhoused, that just received housing -that we were able to help with housing items.
Another nonprofit that as able to offer some fun items to volunteers for their event.
Our West Virginia friends received over 80 cases of diapers, medical equipment, couches that help with the 9 WIC builds they have taken on, items for pregnant moms, and so much moreā¦and yes, without taking from our own community.
Waynesboro Middle School Football and Varsity football teams got massive pasta dinners and protein bars. (Thank you delivery drivers)
That was this week. Saturday we have a volunteer day to sort loads off clothing donations.
Again we get stories daily, people in all situations that need assistance of all different kinds. We are here to serve to the best of our abilities and we need your help to do it.
Our one fundraiser (Friendraiser) The Monster Bash is an excellent way to support us for end of year and also have fun doing it. All proceeds go to SWAT where we provide over 100 Thanksgiving meals to local families, and other projects in the SAW Community.
