It’s during National Police Week, and we’re taking a moment to look back at the Waynesboro Police Department in the 1990s! These photos offer a glimpse into a different era of law enforcement in our community.

The exterior shot captures the department as it stood decades ago, while the interior image shows the front desk before 9-1-1 dispatchers were integrated into the operation. It’s a powerful reminder of how far technology, infrastructure, and public safety services have come over the years.

As we honor the dedicated men and women who serve and protect, it's also important to reflect on the history that brought us to where we are today. Thank you to all who have worn the badge, past and present, for your commitment to keeping Waynesboro safe.

Today, in honor of National Police Week, the Waynesboro Police Foundation presented the Waynesboro Police Department with a $3,000 donation for a reset room at the WPD.

The reset room will be a designated space within the WPD designed to help officers decompress, regulate stress, and recover from difficult calls or cumulative job strain. Reset rooms for police officers have been shown to have a positive impact on their mental health and well-being, which is an essential part of supporting those who serve.

The Waynesboro Police Foundation is proud to support this innovative project!
