Trump Administration moves to squash free speech in responding to Data Center rampge

"US gov't moves to suppress pushback on data centers by removing requirements for public input on pollution — EPA change would allow air pollution permits without publicizing them"

States would then need to choose if they want to solicit public feedback for permits.

"Four Chairs and Two Tables left.
Children's chairs go great with the table or each alone.

If purchased together the factor is automatically increased - haha!

From our friend over at Meijer in Westland at Newburgh and Warren!

"Ever wanted to start your own forest?

Eastern White Pine - four left.
Marked down to $10!!!

Great for home plantingbor restoring a sore spot or a park.

These four are just over three feet tall and in vigorous health!

They normally average 75 feet tall!!!

Let's learn about this Michigan State Tree!

Eastern White Pines are Michigan’s official state tree. These towering evergreens, with soft needles in clusters of five, once blanketed the state’s northern forests and fueled its 19th-century lumber boom.

Loggers prized their tall, straight trunks for ship masts and construction. Heavy harvesting cleared vast stands, yet protected remnants still stand in parks and preserves.

Today conservation efforts restore white pine forests, honoring Michigan’s natural heritage and the resilience of this iconic Great Lakes species.

Come start your very own forest!"

What is Gleaners Community Food Bank ?

Gleaners Community Food Bank has been a favorite place for me to volunteer - that's one thing.

The people work hard, are highly organized, deeply caring and for real.

They stand ready to help and they do it every day.

From food for babies to family meals and helping seniors. Their services for food kitchens help those who are struggling get hot, nutritious meals on a daily basis.

Very few people who need emergency food actually get it for more than a year. After whatever transition they are going through is done they return to their normal lives after the emergency.

------
Gleaners Community Food Bank in Michigan

Gleaners Community Food Bank is one of Michigan’s leading organizations in the fight against hunger. Founded in 1977 and headquartered in Detroit, Gleaners serves Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Livingston, and Monroe counties through a network of hundreds of partner agencies, including food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, schools, and community organizations. Its mission is to provide households with access to sufficient, nutritious food and related resources so that families, children, seniors, and individuals can lead healthier, more stable lives.

Each year, Gleaners distributes tens of millions of pounds of food, including fresh fruits, vegetables, dairy products, and shelf-stable items, reaching more than one million households across southeast Michigan. The organization also operates mobile food distributions and innovative programs such as Fresh! by Gleaners, which provides a dignified, grocery-style experience for residents seeking assistance. Nutrition education, support for children, and partnerships with healthcare providers further strengthen Gleaners’ efforts to address the root causes of food insecurity.

Volunteers, donors, businesses, and community partners play an essential role in Gleaners’ success. Through collaboration and efficient operations, Gleaners continues to reduce waste, rescue surplus food, and ensure that nutritious meals reach people who need them most. Its work demonstrates how communities can come together to build a stronger, healthier, and more food-secure Michigan.
