March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month 💙

And I think people sometimes misunderstand what that really looks like.

It’s not always obvious.
It’s not always wheelchairs or diagnoses you can see.

Sometimes it’s the child who struggles quietly in a loud classroom.
The one working twice as hard just to keep up socially.
The kid who feels emotions bigger, learns differently, or needs extra time, patience, and understanding.

It’s therapy appointments, IEP meetings, advocating when you’re exhausted, and celebrating milestones others may take for granted.

It’s parents and caregivers learning as they go fighting for support, inclusion, and acceptance while loving these kids fiercely every single day.

Developmental differences don’t define limits.
They highlight strength, resilience, and unique ways of experiencing the world.

This month isn’t about sympathy.
It’s about awareness, inclusion, and understanding that every child deserves to belong exactly as they are.

Be kind.
Be patient.
And teach your kids to include everyone. 💙

Because different doesn’t mean less.
