We are hosting Developmental Disabilities Advocacy Day: United in Community Living.

Join us and people with developmental disabilities, families, and community leaders to help protect Medicaid-funded services that allow people with developmental disabilities to live, work, and participate fully in their communities.

Celebrate the 36th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)!

36 years ago, the nation watched as President George HW Bush signed into law protections for individuals with disabilities. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) prohibits discrimination in all areas of public life, including employment, schools, transportation, and public and private places open to the general public. This civil rights law was a hard-won victory for individuals with disabilities across the country.

While the ADA continues to protect from discrimination, our fight is far from over. As we continue to face battles that serve to undermine our basic rights, we are reminded of the people who fought before us and their momentous victory on July 26, 1990.

Our Centers for Independent Living (CILs) across the state are recognizing the anniversary of signing of the ADA by holding community events that are open to the public. Please plan to join an event in your area!
