Dutch Country Animal Rescue We are a 501c3 approved organization on a mission to rescue and find a safe haven for displaced or abused animals, with foster homes in NY, PA, NJ, MD, & TX.

𝑾𝒆 𝒕𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒆𝒂𝒄𝒉 𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒄𝒖𝒆 𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚! Our vision is for all animals to be given the opportunity to live in a peaceful environment with a warm place to rest their head, proper medical care, a full belly, and to truly know the meaning of love. Our mission is to rescue abused or abandoned animals that otherwise would not have a chance. Most of our rescues come from puppy mills and high-kill shelters around the country. Our organization is run entirely by a network of volunteers, so all public funds received are used directly for the rescue and care of animals in need. We typically rescue those that need us most; mill dogs at risk of being destroyed and dogs on death row in kill shelters. We can always use your help! If you are interested in getting involved, we would love to hear from you! Please send us an email at [email protected].

This past month, we said goodbye to our beloved DCAR rescue, Hart. Hart was deeply cherished by his adopter and by all of us at DCAR. He was more than a companion—he was a survivor, a little hero who had overcome so much and still had so much love to give. His gentle spirit and unwavering capacity for love touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

We will always remember Hart for his resilience, his sweet soul, and the quiet joy he brought into the lives around him. He reminded us that strength doesn't always come in big packages. Sometimes, the smallest hearts carry the greatest courage—and leave the biggest paw prints behind.

As Hart makes his journey across the Rainbow Bridge, we are grateful for every moment, every memory, and every bit of love he shared. May he run free through endless green fields, feeling young and carefree once again, surrounded by the love he so freely gave during his time with us. Run free, sweet Hart. You were loved, you are missed, and you will never be forgotten.

Forever loved. Forever remembered. Forever a part of the DCAR family.

Princess has come a long way since coming to us from an extreme hoarding situation. For a little dog who has experienced so much change, trust doesn’t happen overnight. It happens one tiny step at a time.

She’s looking for that very special person or family who understands that her journey may look a little different. Someone who will give her plenty of love, patience, reassurance, and—most importantly—the time and space to do things at her own pace.

Princess would do best in a calm, quiet home with a secure, fully fenced-in yard where she can safely explore and gain confidence. She also needs at least one other small, friendly dog in the home—a canine companion she can bond with, follow, and continue learning from as she discovers all the wonderful things that life has to offer. Because of Princess’s past and the gentle pace she needs, a home without small children would be the best fit for her.

We know Princess’s special someone is out there. Someone who will see the sweet little girl underneath all the uncertainty and understand that earning her trust will be a journey worth taking.

Until then, we’ll keep reminding her that she is safe, she is loved, and she matters. Sometimes the most beautiful bonds are the ones that take a little time to build.
