PURPLE PINKIES FOR POLIO 💜 WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 28th
📍.El Tequila Salsa. ⏰5pm

WHY PURPLE PINKIES?
The purple pinky is a symbol of the fight to end polio worldwide. In many countries, when a child receives the polio vaccine, their pinky finger is marked with purple ink. This helps health workers identify who has received the vaccine and ensures that no child is missed.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?
- Raffles will be available at the event - all proceeds will benefit the Rotary International "End Polio Now" fund https://my.rotary.org/en/polioplus-fund
- Purple Pinky cash donation - make a cash donation to PolioPlus and JoAnn will be happy to give you a purple pinky in return
- We’ll try to take a group picture with the “big (donation) check” at about 6:30pm

WHILE YOU'RE THERE...
- Appetizers will be available - please feel free to stay for dinner.
- From 4pm to 9pm there will ALSO be a fundraiser for the Good Shepherd Shelter. El Tequila Salsa will be donating a portion of meal sales on Wednesday to the Shelter
- "Salud!" El Tequila Salsa serves fantastic made-from-scratch cocktails created with agave and the very best tequilas - no mixes! Make sure to enjoy one of the specialty drinks on the menu Wednesday🌟
- “Thank you, Roy!” - please make sure to thank Roy (the restaurant owner) for so generously supporting our Twelve Days fundraiser - Roy is an incredibly generous community supporter - we are so grateful for his support of Twelve Days!

We couldn't have been happier to welcome Wausau Police Department Officer Nick Stetzer and WPD Timber this morning! Officer Stetzer and his dog Badge were one of the first School Resource Officer + K9 teams in the state of Wisconsin! Ten years later, Officer Stetzer and now, his dog Timber, are making a great impact to the students and staff at Wausau East High School. Wausau School District SRO K9 duos are making a difference every day for middle and high school students in the district, supporting youth mental health in our community! "Just Be You"
Thank you for waking up early, Linda Koepke and Mary Hallgren from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northcentral Wisconsin - it was great to welcome you to hear more about the impactful and lasting work BBBSNCW is doing in our community!

Since 1976 Big Brothers Big Sisters has been impacting youth and their Bigs. Reaching children in both the school-based and community-based programs, they serve seven districts in our area. It costs approximately $2200 per match to support the children they serve. 210 kiddos were served in 2025, with approximately 150 still on the waiting list.

A "Big's" commitment is one year, once a week, during the school year - that could mean lunch at school or an after school playdate.
