We heard from folks in data center hosting locations like Port Washington; residents of Kenosha fighting against the possibility of new data center construction; and community members in Milwaukee and Madison who are uncertain about data center development.

Bringing people together from all over the state - regardless of who they are and how they vote is what this is about! 👏

$100 billion. 57 permanent jobs. 😳

Read that again.

That's what a new OpenAI data center in Texas is expected to deliver. Not thousands of jobs. Not even a hundred. Fifty-seven.

Wisconsin, this is the pitch being sold to us. And we've heard it before. We got Foxconned once already: thousands of jobs and billions in tax revenue that never really showed up.

Meanwhile, Texas Governor Abbott paused new data center development because energy demand is skyrocketing. Here, We Energies just got a 12% rate hike approved, partly to power data centers in Port Washington and Mount Pleasant.

So who's actually winning?

Not the Beaver Dam family whose well ran dry. Not the Port Washington landowner facing eminent domain so a transmission line can cut across his property.

That's the data center deal: give us your land, your water, your energy, and your tax dollars, and just trust us on the jobs.

We're not anti-progress. We're asking who the progress is actually for.

We've seen this movie before. We know how it ends.

6% of American jobs could be wiped out by AI in the next 3 years. In Wisconsin, that's about 200,000 jobs gone by the end of the decade.

And the data centers going up across our state are what's powering it.

We're being asked to hand over our land, water, energy, and tax dollars for something that could cost a lot of us our jobs.

But Wisconsinites aren't just taking it. In DeForest, Brightstown, Beaver Dam, and Janesville, neighbors showed up and shut data center projects down.

When people show up, they win.

Sconnies love their teachers, but often there's a disconnect when it comes to funding our schools.
