This year, the Be Amazing club at G.D. Jones Elementary was made up of 41 hardworking 3rd through 5th graders across three G2M sessions.
They organized a sock drive, collecting and donating over 300 pairs to the United Way, and coordinated a hygiene drive to support local families. To honor our veterans, the students hand-crafted tie blankets for the Honor Flight, and they didn't forget our furry friends, making cat toys for a local animal shelter. Club members also took pride in their school grounds by doing a garbage clean-up, building birdhouses for local wildlife, and spreading joy throughout the neighborhood with hand-painted Kindness Rocks.
They had so much fun completing these projects and seeing the impact they could make. We are so proud of our students for their hard work and for continuing to be amazing!

The DCE Evergreen Elementary Be Amazing Club was very busy this year!

In October the students put together over 70 goodie bags for the Evergreen Elementary staff. Each bag was filled with a variety of snacks, sticky notes and a special note.

Throughout the winter the students worked in small groups to plan special projects and completed them in the spring. The students were in charge of who they wanted to help, how they wanted to help and promoting their events.

In March two groups of students worked together to coordinate a Spring Fling dance and collection drive to benefit the Wisconsin Lion’s Club and Aspirus Family House. Evergreen families were all invited to dance and donate items. Brad Emanuel donated his DJ services to this special event.

Two other groups organized a Donation Drive to benefit the Humane Society of Marathon County and Sleep in Heavenly Peace - WI, Wausau. Kids helping kids and pets was important for the club members.

Another group of students created Sunshine bags with handmade cards and items meant to provide comfort and an easier stay for the parents of children who are hospitalized to receive cancer treatments. These bags were donated to Emmett Strong Sunshine Foundation.

The club’s final project was tying blankets for the Never Forgotten Honor Flight, Inc. Club members worked with a group of veterans from the Veterans Weekly Cup-of-Coffeee and several parents to tie 26 blankets which were given to veterans who flew on the Never Forgotten Honor Flight in May.

These fourth and fifth graders did so much for our community!

Weston Elementary School Be Amazing Club was lucky to have 24 members this year! They began their year by raking leaves for Weston Elementary neighbors. They hosted a Trunk or Treat van at the DC Everest Middle School SAFER Halloween Party. Next the club put on a Veterans Day Celebration for the school and made Thankful wreaths and distributed them to Weston Elementary neighbors. The club opened a Be Amazing Cafe in December offering a hot chocolate and coffee bar before school for staff on Fridays. During the holiday season, club members walked to Pick N Save and rang the bell for the Salvation Army and Christmas caroled at Rennes Health and Rehab Center.

After winter break, the club collaborated with Weston PTO and hosted a Stuffy Sleepover. The club participated in the Everest Imagine Event.

The club returned to Rennes Health and Rehab Center to help with their Young At Heart Program Valentine Party and then again in April for an afternoon of drumming with the residents. Lastly, the club painted rocks and hid them around our school. It was a very successful year for Weston!

The Mountain Bay Be Amazing Club started out their year by creating Thanksgiving cards for the residents at Renne’s Group, who were connected with by a Be Amazing club parent. The kids had so much fun sending creative wishes of thanks and gratitude to members of our community. In December, a group of Be Amazing students were inspired by the Aspirus Family house, and came up with an idea for a toilet paper drive. We turned it into a competition throughout the school, seeing which grade could donate the most toilet paper. In total, 1,085 rolls were donated to the Asprius Family House. In February, the club celebrated the school’s teachers by creating Thank You Cards to surprise them before parent teacher conferences. The club’s final project was a spring clothing drive to help kids at the school who may need a change of clothing throughout their school day, centered around the “We Are Connected” Mindset. We had a great year and are looking forward to what lies ahead!

The Be Amazing Club at Franklin Elementary has done a lot of different projects over the course of this school year, which have all engaged the students and helped them give back to their community. A huge goal for this year was being able to teach about how helping people can be extremely rewarding, and It has been inspiring to watch this goal be achieved. From collecting pasta for the United Way “Lotsa Pasta” drive to making homemade dog treats for animals at the Marathon Park Humane Society, this unique group of kids at Franklin have learned so much about volunteering and helping others, which has only made them more interested in getting involved.
To highlight some more of these projects, these kids have also made appreciation bags for the women and families at the Women’s Community Centre, made kindness rocks for those residing at the Aspirus House, picked up trash around Franklin Elementary for Earth Day, and decorated birdhouses for local parks and gardens. Not only did these kids help with these projects, but they excelled in every single one of them and continued to display hard work and good attitudes. We are all extremely proud to have helped out so many organizations, and be able to witness the impact of supporting the community around you. I would like to sincerely thank Be Amazing for giving these students the opportunity to discover the joy of helping others, to grow as caring individuals, and to see firsthand how even small acts of kindness can make a lasting difference in the lives of others.

Be Amazing Club Rib Mountain Elementary had a busy 4th year! We had a smaller crew than in previous years, but what they lacked in numbers they more than made up for in heart. The year began with a favorite from last year, which was decorating a tree for the Aspirus Hospice House’s Festival of Trees. This year’s tree was themed “kindness is sweet” and the children made all kinds of goodies to adorn the tree with. There were smiling cupcakes, bottle cap macarons, and all wrapped with a taffy garland. In a real show of community kindness, the tree was purchased and then donated to the children’s wing at Aspirus to remain for the holiday season.

With the holiday season closing in and very few meetings left before Christmas break, the kids created Christmas ornaments by decorating simple cardstock Christmas shapes with squares of tissue paper. On the back they wrote heartfelt holiday wishes and stamped with the Be Amazing logo. The intention was to have the kids hand deliver them to the nursing home a few blocks away, but sick residents meant a less exciting delivery by the Club Advisors.

Going into 2026, the children led discussions about their end of the year project. They discussed what groups meant the most to them, and discussed the different ways our club could assist them. While they were brainstorming and planning, we also worked on tying blankets and writing well wishes for the Never Forgotten Honor Flight. This is a highlight for the kids every year and this year was no exception.

The children came up with many ideas and wanted to help everyone, but ultimately it was decided to help out Emmett Strong’s Sunshine Foundation through a bracelet making drive. The children brought in their extra bracelet-making supplies (the Advisors were delighted to get rid of some from their homes!) and we spent a few meetings making bracelets. Rib Mountain Elementary School hosted an Ice Cream Social and Art Fair event at which the students sold their bracelets. The community showed up and over $200 was raised for Emmett Strong’s Sunshine Foundation! Remaining bracelets were also donated to the foundation with the intention of them being used in baskets for children receiving long-term health care.

Students in the Be Amazing program at John Marshall Elementary made a big impact in their community through a series of hands-on service projects. They supported United Way of Marathon County by organizing a pasta drive for the Lottsa Pasta program, collecting more than 100 pounds of pasta, which was then returned to their own school to help support fellow students.
They also contributed to United Way’s Community Closet by hosting a clothing drive, creating reusable shopping bags from t-shirts, and assembling informational folders for closet shoppers.
Beyond their school, students showed compassion for others by making fleece blankets for refugee families arriving in Wausau through the ECDC Multicultural Community Center, as well as blankets for veterans for the Never Forgotten Honor Flight, Inc.They also spread kindness in creative ways by painting inspirational rocks for Aspirus Wausau Hospital Family House baking dog treats for the The Womens Community, Inc. and donating additional treats to The Neighbors’ Place market.
Through these projects, Be Amazing students demonstrated generosity, creativity, and a strong commitment to helping others in their community.

The John Marshall Be Amazing Club students and advisors are amazing and we thank them for all they did for our community!
