To my friends in the Philippines who've suffered the loss die to the recent earthquake and aftershocks; Please make every effort to stay focused on Christ. Many of is have ensured difficult situations before...remember how close we drew to Christ? As painful as this is for you, don't forget, in Isaiah 55:8-9, God says,
"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD. [9] For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts."
God is in this. This is a testing of your faith in Him, "for without faith, it is impossible to please God." HEBREWS 11:6.
If that which is lost is of material things, how does that impact eternity? Make full use of you struggles, as the prophet prayed in Habakkuk 3:17-19, "Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, [18] yet I will rejoice in the LORD; I will take joy in the God of my salvation. [19] GOD, the Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like the deer's; he makes me tread on my high places."
I love you all. I mourn with you, yet rejoice, that God is still, "able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us." Ephesians 3:20
