Today’s guest speaker was Bobbette with the Salvation Army Oxford, Mississippi. She updated us on the coverage that her organization provided during the life storm and prepared us to get ready to ring the bell for the Salvation Army kettle this season.

She reported that Yalobusha county was highly successful in our kettle fundraiser last year and that we raised $3200 in 6 days which gave our county the recognition of raising the most money per hour out of our Salvation Army district! 🎉🎉

Please let us know if you would like to sign up to help us ring the bell this year! 🔔

Rotary Club of Water Valley MS presents our 11th ANNUAL CHILI COOKOFF!!!
🌶️ Sign up today to win big prize money and bragging rights! 😁

It’s time to sign up for the Rotary Club’s 11th Annual Chili Cookoff at the Pocket Park in Downtown Water Valley, MS, that will be held on November 14, 2026!!! In case of rain, the event will be moved indoors to the BankFirst Community Room.

This popular event has become a staple during the Holiday Open House event sponsored by the Water Valley Area Chamber of Commerce.

Judging begins at 10:30 and we will be selling bowls of chili with Fritos, cheese and a drink from 11am–2pm for $5!!

There is a $10 entry fee. 1st prize is $100, 2nd prize $50, 3rd prize $25! All donations welcome!

Y’all come bring a crockpot of your favorite chili between 9:30 am and 10:30 am to the Pocket Park on the day of the event. You can leave your crockpot until the event is over and pick it back up at 2 pm. Winners will be announced at 2 pm on the bandstand. You do not have to be present to win.

Entry fee can be paid in cash, PayPal, Venmo or Cash App! Just private message me about payment details. 😀

Second prize raffle winner Eddie Foster won $200 in cash donated by C.W. White and graciously donated the $200 back to the club with a matching donation of another $200 for a total of $400 to the club! Thank you Mr. Foster for your thoughtfulness and generosity.
