I Am Asking Everyone to Please Share This Post - Rowdy Needs a Miracle 😔
This situation is very heavy on my heart tonight. I am praying so hard we can find a solution for this elderly woman and for her beloved dog.
Rowdy's owner is 85 years old. Up until recently, she lived out in the country in Panola County, just her and her devoted dog. Sadly, because of her age, she had to move to a place where she can no longer have her constant companion. Her heart is broken. Rowdy's heart is broken. I have promised her we will do everything in our power to find a loving home for Rowdy because the alternative is more than her heart can take.
She took Rowdy in about 8 years ago when he was dumped on her property. She had 5 other dogs at the time but that didn't stop her from taking this dog in and loving him as her own. One by one, her dogs passed away, leaving just her and Rowdy to grow old together.
Rowdy is temporarily staying with a man that used to walk him daily for the elderly woman. Sadly, he can't keep him permanently. That is the reason I got the call today. Time is very critical in this situation.
Rowdy is a big dog. Over 100 lbs. He loves being with older people. Kind, gentle, soft-spoken people. He has been through a lot of change lately, causing him to snap a couple of times at someone that made him feel threatened. Totally out of his character. He has never snapped or bitten anyone in the past. You can only imagine how much he misses his old life. How much he misses his owner. How much he misses his quiet home.
That is what we are committed to finding for Rowdy. A safe, loving place that he can call home again. After talking with the elderly woman today, I am convinced Rowdy is an extraordinary dog. A gentle soul that is confused and hurting. He just needs a soft place to land.

Special Note: This picture of Rowdy was taken back in May, 2026. Since that time, his world has been turned upside down. He had to remain at the property temporarily after his owner was moved for lack of anywhere for him to go. He was checked on every single day but during that period of time, Rowdy was attacked by a coyote and suffered severe injuries. Thanks to the kindness of a friend who paid all the medical expenses, Rowdy was treated for his injuries and his wounds have since healed. Sadly, all of these events have taken a toll on his body and soul. Today, he looks a bit different because this picture was taken back in May. He is still a beautiful, loving dog that needs a place to go.
