We are incredibly grateful to Alyeska Pipeline Service Company for their generous $40,000 gift to support Alaska EXCEL students.

For our students, support like this can help turn career goals into real opportunities. From hands-on training and career exploration to education and workforce development, these resources give students the chance to build skills, gain experience, and take meaningful steps toward the future they envision for themselves.

Alyeska’s continued investment in Alaska’s youth helps create pathways from village to career and opens doors for students across the state.

Thank you, Alyeska Pipeline Service Company, for believing in our students and investing in what comes next. We are proud to have you alongside us as our students explore what is possible and build their futures.

EXCEL 11 is officially complete!

Over the past 10 days, our 11th grade students have challenged themselves, stepped outside their comfort zones, and gained new perspectives on what life after high school can look like.

Through hands-on learning, college and training center visits, career exploration, and everyday life skills, students had the chance to ask questions, try new things, and consider opportunities they may not have explored before.

From learning about different career and education pathways to building confidence in their ability to make informed decisions, these experiences are important steps toward their futures.

We are proud of the hard work, curiosity, and growth our students brought to this session. A big thank you to everyone who helped make these 10 days meaningful. We look forward to seeing our students continue putting what they've learned into action!

Our EXCEL 11 students are well into their 10 day session, and they’ve been keeping busy!

Over the past several days, students have stepped into corporation meetings, practiced interviewing, worked on resumes and cover letters, explored their career interests, and started building their own career plans.

They’ve also been getting a closer look at life after high school through tours of the AVTEC - Alaska Vocational Technical Center, Kenai Peninsula College, and Alaska Career College. These visits have given students the opportunity to explore different programs, ask questions, and see some of the paths available to them after graduation.

Between career exploration and real life lessons in budgeting, meal planning, housing, transportation, and the cost of education, students are gaining skills they can carry with them long after this session ends.

There are still a few days left, and we’re excited to see what our students take away from the rest of their time together!

Check back soon for more from EXCEL 11.

Welcome to EXCEL 11!

We’re excited to welcome our 11th grade students back for 10 days of learning, exploring, and preparing for what comes next.

Throughout this session, students will build career and professional skills through corporation meetings, interviews, resumes, job applications, and career planning. They’ll also visit college and training campuses, giving them the opportunity to explore different pathways and picture what their next steps could look like.

Along the way, they’ll work through real life skills like budgeting, meal planning, housing, transportation, and the cost of education, building confidence and independence as they prepare for life after high school.

There’s a lot packed into these 10 days, but at the heart of it is something simple: giving students the time, space, and experiences to think about where they want to go and helping them take meaningful steps toward getting there.

We’re excited to see what our students discover, learn, and accomplish during this session. Check back later this week for an update on what our EXCEL 11 students have been up to!
