ICYMI: Activists rally in Harrisburg around 6th Anniversary of Shapiro setbacks report:

"Katie Weber lives in Hanover Township, Washington County and went to Harrisburg because she’s concerned about plans to build a large cluster of data centers powered by an on-site natural gas plant near her home.

'We are united and our message is clear,' Weber said. 'We do not want data centers, and we do not want fracking anywhere near our homes, our schools or our daycares.'

The day before, activists argued for a three-year moratorium on data centers in another rally at the capitol."

This Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we celebrate the cultures, knowledge, and leadership of Indigenous Peoples worldwide. Their communities continue to defend their homelands, protect cultural traditions, and exercise their right to self-determination.

From mining projects to oil and gas development, decisions about land and natural resources can have lasting consequences for Indigenous communities. At Earthworks, we believe protecting the environment must go hand in hand with respecting Indigenous sovereignty and communities' right to shape their own futures.

Our thermographer, Mandy Sackett, recently documented an unlit flare leaking gas a couple hundred yards from an elementary school in Carlsbad, NM. 💨 🫁😷

Mandy uses optical gas imaging cameras 📹 to make visible what oil and gas operators would rather stay invisible: methane pollution caused by broken valves, leaks, and flares at oil and gas facilities that aren't working the way they should. 🏭 🫁😷

As she told the Albuquerque Journal, "That is the pollution that's already happening."

🚨 Now Trump's EPA wants to make it worse. Families living, working, and going to school near oil and gas wells need more protection, not less.

Speaking to industry insiders at the New Mexico Oil and Gas Association's conference in Santa Fe this week, EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin announced plans to roll back the methane pollution rules meant to prevent exactly this.
