Equinox Gold wants to quadruple the size of the Castle Mountain gold mine in the Mojave Desert. Their proposal would leave behind massive waste piles, threaten groundwater, and require the construction of new infrastructure through protected public lands.

Communities and Tribal Nations should not be forced to absorb permanent environmental damage so a company can mine faster and make more money. Better alternatives exist, and regulators should require them.

Late last year, PA's Environmental Quality Board took an important step toward expanding the distance between new gas drilling sites & homes, schools, and hospitals. We need to demand the Department of Environmental Protection advance this NOW.

The Trump Administration is moving forward with a massive floating LNG export project off the coast of Matagorda, Texas, even as families already face rising gas prices and growing climate disasters. ⛽📈

Projects like ST LNG would increase pollution along the Texas coast, threaten local fishing and tourism economies, and lock communities into decades more fossil fuel infrastructure. Meanwhile, people are left paying more for energy while corporate polluters get richer. 🏭💨

💰 Polluters Should Help Cover the Cost ⚠️

For too long, communities have dealt with the health impacts of oil and gas pollution while agencies have lacked the resources to enforce existing laws fully. 🏘️💨

New Mexico’s updated permit fees will bring in more funding for inspections and oversight, helping the state better respond to harmful emissions and protect nearby communities. The industries creating the pollution should help pay for the work needed to address it. 🌎⚖️

This is a major step toward cleaner air and stronger accountability across New Mexico. ✊📍

Colorado recently fined Chevron $1.5 million after a major well blowout near Galeton Elementary School. While significant on paper, the penalty is small compared with the billions the company earns. 📊⚖️
