🚨ACT NOW🚨

The Farm Bill has passed the House, largely on party lines, and it includes the Save Our Bacon Act. We must act NOW to ensure the Senate does not include this dangerous language in their version of the Farm Bill.

You can help by urging your federal legislators to ❌OPPOSE❌ a Farm Bill that includes any language that restricts state farm animal laws 🐷🐮

🎉GREAT NEWS🎉

Last week, the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Republicans and the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure passed the BUILD America 250 Act, which included language that BANS the transport of horses to slaughter.

TY Congressman Jeff Van Drew and Congresswoman Dina Titus for leading the bipartisan charge on this crucial amendment bringing us one step closer to ending the ability to send horses in the U.S. to slaughter 👏

We will continue to advocate for this provision as this bill advances in the House and the Senate 🐎

This year, in Grand Teton National Park, a young bear called Miracle is surviving solo. Miracle was originally a triplet. But after reportedly being separated from their mother, Bonita, in 2025, two of Miracle’s siblings were confirmed dead.

🚨BREAKING🚨

The House Committee on Appropriations just released their annual bill to fund U.S. Department of the Interior and the good news is it maintains longstanding language preventing wild horses and burros from going to slaughter--thank you for answering our call to contact your Representative to protect wild horses and burros, it worked 🙌

Unfortunately, the bill is bad news for Endangered Species Act-protected wildlife. If passed, the bill would direct U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to remove crucial safeguards for gray wolves and grizzly bears, including delisting these species that still urgently need federal protections 🐺🐻

“A failure to finalize protections for pangolins would do more than just harm wildlife—it would benefit those who profit from the illegal trade,” says Gabe Wigtil, wildlife trafficking program director at Humane World for Animals.

Once triggered, the M-44 cyanide bomb shoots a pellet of sodium cyanide into an animal’s mouth—causing terror, pain, distress, suffering, injury and death.

Although its primary targets are coyotes and foxes, the M-44 also kills animals it is not intended to harm including people’s pets and endangered wildlife species. Even worse, the M-44 is a clear and present danger to people, too, given its indiscriminate nature.

The M-44 is a weapon of terror and extreme violence, and in the world we envision—the world we’re trying to create—there can be no place for it.

Happy Endangered Species Day 🙌

Today we’re reminded of the importance of Endangered Species Act protections for grizzly bears like Jam. Known for her goofy and playful personality, someday soon she may come out of hibernation with cubs of her own. We just have to wait and see 💕

Grizzly bears are the ultimate mama bears, but like other imperiled species they are struggling to survive in an increasingly human-centered world. The Endangered Species Act has saved 99% of listed species from extinction, but attempts are under way to weaken it, and remove safeguards for species like grizzly bears and gray wolves 🐻🐺

🎉VICTORY 🎉

Iowa becomes the 50th US state to enact felony level penalties for extreme cruelty and torture of companion animals 🙌

State and local laws are frequently as important as federal laws, and they play a fundamental role in our efforts to secure the highest level of protection possible for animals at risk.

Grizzly bears have just started their slow recovery but still face serious challenges. If we remove their Endangered Species protections now, we may lose them forever.

We are suing the U.S. Department of Agriculture for failure to protect horses from soring.

One of the plaintiffs was concerned about the use of soring by trainers, but was assured it wouldn't happen to her horse. She also relied on the USDA’s legal obligations to protect horses. Sadly, she was mislead. After she pulled her horse, she found out he had been sedated and the soles of his feet cut thin to intensify the impact of his heavy padded shoes. Her personal farrier said her horse's hooves were so damaged that—had they been cut down a millimeter more—euthanasia might have been warranted.

This needs to end. Horses should not suffer for the sake of a show ribbon.

: Humane World for Animals released their Horrible Hundred report, which exposes puppy mills across the U.S. Our new report speaks for all the dogs who are suffering—or even dying—at the hands of a wholly legal and licensed industry permitted to sell its dogs to pet stores and online.

In August 2025, at a dog breeding operation in Missouri, a husky mix named Masterpiece got sick with diarrhea and appeared weak. The owner of the facility, who is licensed under the U.S. Department of Agriculture, simply killed him.

In response, the USDA suspended the breeder’s license in January for just 21 days. Now the license is active again.

Every year we issue our Horrible Hundred report to expose puppy mills across the U.S. Our new report speaks for all the dogs who are suffering—or even dying—at the hands of a wholly legal and licensed industry permitted to sell its dogs to pet stores and online.
