A federal judge dismissed the Trump administration's challenge to Michigan's cage-free egg law, rejecting the claim that better egg standards are responsible for higher prices.

Michigan’s law is one of many state-level reforms we’ve led that are improving the lives of farmed animals and reflecting the more humane standards people expect from modern agriculture.

The factory farming lobby may continue its attacks, but the momentum toward better treatment of animals is undeniable.

Twenty years ago today, the Pets Evacuation and Transportation Standards (PETS) Act was signed into law recognizing that community disaster plans must include pets🐾

We led the push for the PETS Act, ensuring that state and local emergency plans address the needs of people with pets and service animals—and that FEMA Federal Emergency Management Agency supports communities with this kind of emergency planning.

Two decades later, the PETS Act remains essential to disaster preparedness, but many communities still have gaps in planning for animals. When plans fall short, animals, their families, and first responders can all be put at risk ❤️🐾

In honor of World Animal Day let’s continue to raise awareness and improve standards for animals by advocating for to help the millions of animals currently used in research and testing. With new scientific advancements, many of these tests are now obsolete and unnecessary 🧪🔬

The good news is that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration granted our legal petition to update their outdated drug approval regulations and embrace science that is better for both animals and humans, but we need to ensure they implement their proposed changes quickly.

Please contact the FDA and urge them to implement their new rule swiftly. Animals have been suffering in labs for too long already 🐭🐹🐰

Today the U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced that it plans to update its drug regulations by removing references to animal testing, which will help make it clear that companies don’t have to submit data from animal tests to have their drugs approved 🙌

This update will eventually have substantial implications for millions of animals used in testing. And because the U.S. is the world’s largest pharmaceutical market, what the FDA does has consequences for animals in laboratories all over the world 🐶🐭🐒

But we need to ensure that the FDA implements these updates to its regulations as quickly as possible, so please take action today to push the agency to quickly implement this critical rule!
