Earlier today, many housing agencies across the country did not receive Housing Assistance Payments (HAP) for the month of June. Recently HUD sent an email to housing agency executive directors stating that housing agencies would receive the HAP in their accounts tomorrow (June 2, 2026). The Department noted that it “. . . has been working closely with the U.S. Treasury to address the issue.”

Do you know an inspiring professional who is making a difference in the housing and community development field? The Emerging Leader Award celebrates rising leaders who demonstrate passion, leadership, collaboration, and a commitment to advancing our industry and supporting others along the way.

This award honors individuals who have been actively involved with NAHRO at the national, regional, and/or chapter level for at least five years and who continue to lead through service, mentorship, and innovation.

📣 Nominations must be submitted by someone other than the nominee.
🏆 Award recipients may only receive the award once.
🤝 Nominees do not need to be members of the Emerging Leaders Subcommittee.
