Hains Point is a cherished fixture of our cycling community. For decades, the low traffic road loop and park facilities have been a place for cyclists in our community to train and socialize.
The Mid-Atlantic Bicycle Racing Association (MABRA) is therefore concerned about the Administration’s plan to transform East Potomac Park into a championship golf course, which could lead to the removal of the picnic areas, historic cherry blossoms, and roads to cycle on.
MABRA is committed to preserving access at Hains Point for cycling and other recreational use.
MABRA has submitted a formal request to the National Park Service (NPS) to receive consulting party status for these proposed changes, which would obligate NPS to keep us informed of the planning.

* If you are a member of a registered 501(c)3 club or other organization with an interest in keeping the East Potomac Park loop accessible, your organization may also request consulting party status.
