At Kalunga Foundation for Women Empowerment, we are driven by our core values of sustainable agriculture, economic independence, community resilience, and inclusive development. We equip women with practical skills that build long-term food security and economic self-reliance in Zambia.
We are immensely proud to share that a dedicated group of our women has successfully completed specialized training in aquaculture (fish farming) and fish feed production. They gained hands-on expertise in pond design and construction, water quality management, sustainable breeding and harvesting, fish health monitoring, and — most importantly — formulating affordable, nutrient-rich fish feed using locally sourced ingredients.
These remarkable women, many of whom balance family and community responsibilities, demonstrated outstanding dedication, resilience, and leadership. Their achievements reflect Kalunga Foundation’s commitment to transforming women into active agents of change who strengthen households and entire communities.
This training marks a significant step forward. The participants are now ready to launch community-based fish farming enterprises that will generate sustainable income, improve household nutrition through increased access to high-protein fish, create jobs for other women and youth, and build resilient local value chains by reducing reliance on expensive imported feeds.
We invite development partners, corporations, and impact leaders to collaborate with us, network and those in business and market linkages to connect with us to push and scale this model and reach more communities across Zambia.
Investing in the women of Kalunga Foundation is an investment in scalable, sustainable development and a more food-secure future.
We welcome connections and conversations on potential partnerships. Together, we can amplify women-led solutions in agriculture and food security.
