THANK YOU THANK YOU, to all of you that showed up to help our Annual Lakes and Park Cleanup. We had a great showing even with the cold weather!

A special Thank you to the Waseca Boys Football team and Coach Wendland, The Waseca Rotary Club, and the City of Waseca Parks Director Brad Dushaw!

More than two dumpsters filled with garbage and debris were picked ip or removed.

It’s not too late to help though, you can join The Lakes association as a member which helps us financially and you can also help if you see garbage in public areas or debris in storm drains, please safely remove and dispose of debris properly.

Together we continue to make our lakes and parks a great place to enjoy. Thanks again!

Don’t forget today is our lakes and parks cleanup beginning at 9 AM at Maplewood Park! We’ll have the heat on and donuts available for the start and a late lunch after (around 1130) for anybody that’s able to stay!

We hope to see you all there to help make a difference in keeping our community clean!

As always, thank you to the City of Waseca and Waseca County for their continued appreciation and support of Waseca Lakes.

Save the date: Annual Lakes and Parks Clean-up Day is Saturday, April 18th!

ATTENTION:

The Minnesota capital investment committee is taking five multi-day trips across the state to review bonding projects.

Waseca: $8.9 million for inflow and infiltration, as well as $ 1.0 million to start land acquisition and design work for a new water tower.

We'd appreciate everyone who can come and help support this project being at Clear Lake Park on Wednesday, the 5th, at 2:45 PM. Hope to see you there.

Before we get into all the mayhem of nationals over the next two weeks, we want to take a moment to acknowledge something really special and a shining example of what makes our sport so great. Some of you may have seen that on Friday, Bayside Skiers got word that the lake they ski on and were set to host the Midwest Regional Tournament on was put on no wake restrictions. With less than 24 hours notice, they scrambled to find a new site, move barges, equipment, concessions, everything, contact everyone, and set up an entire tournament. In any other sport, the tournament likely would have been cancelled, but we are show skiers. We don’t quit!

Bayside successfully set up an entire tournament at a public park about 45 minutes from their home site they had invested time and money into upgrading just for this tournament with only a couple hour delayed start Friday morning. The team jumped right into action mode to make it happen, no questions asked. People from many other teams that were on site also stepped in to help to make sure the tournament happened. We did not hear a single complaint, a single pain of frustration, nothing. Everyone stepped up to help make this tournament happen. We could not be more impressed.

Thank you Bayside Skiers for not giving up when adversity reared its ugly head. Thank you Waterhawks Ski Team and Hartwick Huskys Water Show Ski Team for both offering your sites to host the tournament at literally a moments notice. Thank you to all the volunteers from other teams who stepped in to help with set up and tear down so the park could be cleaned up so quickly and for helping a team in need.

Our sport is so special because of situations like this. We’ve rallied to help fellow teams and individuals in need, and we know we’ll do it again. We are beyond proud of each and every one of you for doing what you could to help and keeping such a great attitude through it all. Thank you all for your showmanship and teamwork!

Not what we wanted but….

“THE SHOW MUST GO ON!”

Remember to give grace this weekend to the host team and all those involved in helping move the tournament, that way we can still ski and have fun!
