Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council This may include dance, literature, media arts, music, theater, visual art, folk and traditional art.

Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council awards grants to artists, arts organizations, and youth in the 9-county area of Blue Earth, Brown, Faribault, Le Sueur, Martin, Nicollet, Sibley, Waseca and Watonwan. Non-profit tax-exempt 501(c)(3) arts organizations, non-profit community groups, public organizations, or units of government that produce or sponsor arts activities within the region are eligible.

We provide funding for organizations directly engaged in the creation of art, the production of artistic performances, or the sponsorship of quality arts activities in our local communities that may have a smaller budget. A variety of activities including art and music festivals, community choirs, dance performances, literary readings, instrumental and vocal music concerts, public art projects, theater productions, visual art classes and exhibitions are eligible.

We're excited to announce Heather Gordon as our next new board member, representing the City of St. Peter!

✨Bio✨

Heather Gordon is a U.S. Navy veteran, artist, and photojournalist whose work bridges creative expression and service to others. She currently serves as Brand Ambassador for the Bravo Zulu House, where she leads fundraising and advocacy efforts to advance the future 2027 Women's House, created to support women veterans with PTSD and reduce veteran su***de.

Heather earned her A.A.S. from the University of Maryland, Asian Division, and her B.F.A. from the College of Visual Arts in St. Paul, MN, and is now pursuing a master's degree in Licensed Clinical Counseling-Art Therapy at Lesley University in Boston, MA. She is currently completing her second practicum as a clinical therapist-in-training at the Greater Minnesota Trauma Center in St. Peter.

Heather extends her care for community as a member of the Zonta Club of Mankato, where she works to empower and educate women, advance gender equality, and end violence against women. She offers art classes through Southwest Minnesota Housing Partnership and within the local recovery community.

A native of St. Peter, MN, Heather is the proud mother of three amazing young adults.

Registration is LIVE for the first of three upcoming trainings for artists and culture bearers in southern Minnesota!

In this session, learn how to track revenues and expenses, make informed projections, and gain a clearer understanding of your artistic business finances. There will also be time for connection and conversation, co-facilitated by a SEMAC staff member.

These workshops are hosted by Springboard for the Arts, in collaboration with SEMAC, for creatives in the PLRAC, SEMAC, and SMAC regions.
