Reminder - Come join us for our monthly meeting on Wednesday 5/20 at the Y from 6:30-8! Bring any excess plants, seeds, or seedlings to share. As an overly-protective gardener, I’m equally excited and anxious about my vacation plans for this summer. I’m more than ready for a change of scenery, and the anticipation that comes with planning days of doing

Benefits of ollas:
Water Efficiency: They only release water as needed. Unlike sprinklers or drip irrigation, they won't overwater.

Targeted Irrigation: Water goes straight to the roots—not the leaves or soil surface—reducing evaporation.

Root Development: Plants naturally grow roots around the olla to access the moisture. When I pull up an olla in the fall, it's often surrounded by a thick net of roots.

And, according to Wild Revival Garden and Home, no more blossom end rot on your tomatoes, because ollas maintain consistent moisture levels!

Waterwise and Efficient Irrigation for Any Garden

Come join us! It will be a good time.

You are invited to attend our next meeting on Wednesday, May 20th at 7 p.m. at the Wyoming County YMCA. We have a full agenda!
We expect to have the latest details on the EcoPark design by insite Architecture! Come see the plans!
We will also hold a plant exchange. Bring your excess seedlings and houseplants and take home something new! Seeds welcome as well.
And we will hold an olla-making workshop. What is an olla, you ask? Ollas are an ancient gardening technique. Unglazed terra cotta pots are mostly buried in the ground, filled with water, and covered. The terracotta is permeable and when the ground is dry, it pulls water from the pot to your plants' roots. We'll be making our own - come join us!
And there are still plots in the community garden available to lease - $30 for the summer! Come and fill out an application!
Hope to see you on the 20th!
