Great pre Memorial Day Weekend program reflected hometown area activity around the WWII era through newspaper articles. After months of researching archived newspapers, Traci Manning took us through happenings around the home front tied to the war. It seemed as if every local business & resident were doing their part to support the war & its soldiers. Traci stressed how every day the newspapers were full of pictures of soldiers who were sons, brothers, uncles, friends, loved ones, who were recently lost to the war. Traci stressed the words, "every day." One slide in the program told of the documentary called "Steel Town 1944". Traci encouraged the group to watch the short documentary. It was about Youngstown. Check it out. It's on YouTube. And, if you ever hear of Traci giving her talk again, you just might want to attend. See it as part of your patriotic duty. Especially in the year of America's 250 Celebration.
