💙 September is National Kinship Care Month!

Sometimes family is the grandparent, aunt, uncle, sibling, relative—or close family friend—who steps up when a child needs them most.

Kinship caregivers provide something incredibly important: connection, familiarity, stability, and a sense of belonging during a time of uncertainty.

This month, NOAS celebrates the kinship caregivers who open their homes, adjust their lives, and show up every day for children and families.

TBRI Tip Tuesday 💙

Trust doesn’t always come easily for a child who has experienced trauma, loss, or instability. It is built through small, consistent moments of connection.

Today’s Tip: Be predictable. Follow through on what you say, keep routines when possible, and let your child know what to expect. Each time you show up consistently, you are helping them learn that you are safe and they can depend on you.

Connection takes time—but those small moments matter.
